Detroit Steel seemed to be up to something inside the armour, he seemed to rushing to get something done. I wonder if he'll have somehow uploaded himself in crazy comic logic, into the armour, becoming a literal ghost in the machine?

Probably not, but I'm just really sick of the Hammers and want something to take them out of the game.

Loved that ending, it was all very Doctor Who, but the punch was great.

If this was the first time Spymaster was ever truly happy, completeing his mission like a good super agent only meant that he just destroyed his life and his lover's.

I missed last issue. So I'm assuming SM either chose suicide-by-cop or blew his own brains out.

if you haven't read Iron Man: The Inevitable, you really should. Spymaster was giddy throughout. and he's a complete sociopath. it's just a little jarring to see him act as if he were in love. the only way i can rationalize it is as him being so insane that he convinced himself that the role he was playing was real (or Mandarin screwed with his mind). he murdered Happy Hogan because he held Stark responsible for killing his wife (Gretta). this isn't a deal breaker for me. but it doesn't fit well with Spymaster's introduction in Iron Man the Inevitable.

:shrugs: maybe it's because i have that image of Mandarin as an old man in my head.

Yeah, despite the blood and stuff around the armour, I don't think the Detroit Steel story line is over yet.

That's fair enough, it doesn't help that Larrocca draws him like a young Asian gangster, either.

Hmm, this talk got me thinking: what's everyone's general opinion of Doug Johnson/Detroit Steel? I didn't like him all that much in the Resilient arc but he's not all that bad, lately. His rise and fall (and potential rise again?) was quite interesting.
