Default Red Hulk vol 1 question

    Hey guys,

I just wanted to ask a question about Red Hulk Vol 1. I have been seeing two different covers that both say they are vol 1, one has a green hulk and red hulk upper body shot about to fight, and the other has a half red and half green face. I think the difference is that the face is hardcover and the upper body is a soft cover version but I just wanted to check.

I have been a mad hulk fan for as long as I can remember, my old man got me started and I have some very rare items that I have never seen elsewhere, but life and kids and marriage sort of drags you away but I am finding myself drawn back again and I am really keen to follow the red hulk but want to start the story at the start and not jump in half way.

I must admit that I am someone who likes the original hulk, not the hulk you see today, but something about the red hulk has peeked my interest.

I know this is marvel but I would like to get back to Batman as well, if anyone has any ideas where to begin.

You actually have it backwards--both books called Red Hulk vol. 1 are the same book inside, but the "face" cover is the softcover, and the two Hulks duking it out is the hardcover. (There's also an oversize hardcover with the two Hulks fighting, called "Red Hulk/Green Hulk" that reprints all the same issues plus the ones from Hulk Vol. 2: Red & Green.)

Here's hoping you enjoy, although IMO the series much improved once you knew who Red Hulk was & the original creators (Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness) left the series.

I'm a big Hulk fan, too--so much so I'm writing a book with essays about the character on the event of his 50th anniversary. It's set for release later in the year. Keep an eye out!

I will keep an eye out for sure.

I was actually going through my old things I collected, and many of the tiems I know what they are worth, but one item I picked up about 15yrs ago and it is a sculpted hulk bar of soap, and the box is red with drawings of the classic hulk on it. I have never seen it anywhere other then the one I have. There is a grey boxed one that surfaced and you can get on ebay, but it is crap compared to the one I have.

Basically I am updating a lot of my collection on contents insurance, and I think this item might be worth a fair bit being that no one keeps the box and kids used it in the bath. The soap itself is perfect, never been used, I can supply pictures. Have you seen this item, or do you know where I could get an idea?

I love the hulk, but my main area is rare offical documents mainly australian dating back to at least the 19th century, my oldest being 170yrs old. I want and need to get back into collecting original hulk items, old school items.
