    Normally, she would have been perfectly safe in Wakanda. Now I'm worried that Namor's insane attack might leave her harmed/killed, just so he can have his "what have I done!?" moment. Dying for the character development of the A-listers has always been the new X-Men's fate, after all.

    Yeah, it was only about about 15 years ago. Barely any time at all

    Every time! They have to always pick my favorite character every time!
    It isn't marvel's fault that you only like expendable characters...

    Couple of really important things to note in this issue. First - it's now canon that the world at large love the P5 and what they're doing. No more of this "Oh but they're ruling the world against their will!" BS - the P5 and the X-men are beloved for fixing the planet and the Avengers are the ones being received poorly/with skepticism.

    Second - Scott doesn't want to kill any of the Avengers (except for maybe Wanda, but considering all that she's done against her own people...). He actively states that this isn't war - this is just a rescue Hope mission. He DOES, however, want to shut down the Avengers as an organization, so no more of the "oh, but he's running around evil and killing his dissenters!" thing.

    Third - What the hell, how crazy powerful are they making Wanda for this event? This girl bounces from OP to regular to OP again just as often as she bounces from sane to insane.

    All in all, okay issue. I enjoyed it, as it delivered a much more neutral showing of the two teams and didn't skew it as ridiculously as I feared it would. Also, lol at BP for slapping Tony out of his poor me pity act. That alone was worth the coverprice, because I do like Tony getting physically and verbally slapped.

    Really sucks that they dropped the ball on the Polaris/Scarlett Witch interaction, though. They were on the same battlefield, on the same page. They're half-siblings. Wanda depowered Lorna in M-Day. They have SHIT to talk about, serious, serious shit. Shit that is much more relevant than Tony's whatever technobabble interruption. Also, the Avengers really like kidnapping teenage girls from the X-men, don't they? It's seriously all they have accomplished this entire event.

    Could be Bendis' Cyclops from the past in new duds. One of the ugly things that the original will find out in this present (aside from the terrifying fact that they are now written by Bendis) is that Scott and Jean are now dead;

    Peace

    Great issue. First time I ever enjoy the pacing of a Fraction's comic. He even made the Black Panther enjoyable.

    It actually seems to me that Chris Evans is closer to snapping under pressure than Scott. It wouldn;t surprise me if he's the one that ends up saving Wakanda from Namor (I do hope he gets to do a lot of damage tho)

    She's been non-villainous quite a bit longer than she's been a villain, though. She's never fully good, and that's part of the appeal. I think what's being amplified here is her thinking Cyclops is too naive, her manipulative nature, and the fact that Transonic is one of her students. Her kids being in danger is one of the things to set her off the fastest.

    I'm with you there. I should never have liked her; it's the kiss of death for any fictional character.

    Oh please. If Strange meant to kidnap her (or any mutant), he wouldn't do it while transporting a lot of other people at the same time. He'd go alone -- *poof* grab *poof*

    I'm thinking the Avengers will be looking to obtain all the Lights, Transonic here, but I suspect we'll see the others go soon enough, either though being taken or going voluntarily to be with Hope
