Loved this issue! This arc is fantastic so far! The Lizard is seriously scary like this, he is able to blend in and still be so ruthless. I wonder how him being haunted by Billy will play out? I'm thinking it may be what causes him to slip up and gives Spidey his opening to take him out, or it could bring Conners back to "life". BTW poor Max getting turned into a Lizard and all, that's rough.

Yeah, Lizard has an Iago feel.

Which would put Peter in the Othello role if he kills Morbius...

So, then Morbius would be Desdemona? Not the best image in my head...

It would be sorta interesting to see how Max and Peter would deal with it if Sajani does become a pseudo-vampire like Morbius. And if Peter finds out that the Lizard actually did make Morbius do it, I think it would definitely be a huge dent in Peter's moral.

Julia and Rachel were great in this issue. I love that she's Madame Web if it means more screen... err, page time.

Peter with guns threw me off though.
    Bad news everyone...

Thing is, this arc is kind of proving that Morbius hasn't learned a single thing since his introduction back in the 70's. What were the circumstances of his origin? Faced with a grim fate, he arrogantly assumes he can solve everything scientifically, and has his hopes raised, only to be dashed with the cruel consequences of his actions. And here, he's done the exact same, except it's the Lizard who's the lab rat, and Spider-Man whose hopes are about to be dashed. Arrogance is Morbius' continuing fatal flaw, (Remember Sub City?), which actually does make him a bit more Shakespearean than most.

But I think Morbius is Cassio to Lizard's Iago, not Desdamona.

Does anyone think Sajani was too obvious a target for Morbius, because she's the one who least gets along with Peter and this is like "she deserves it" or payback?

Well, it's not that "she gets along with Peter the least" so much as "she's an obnoxious, spiteful person". So, yeah, glad to see Morbs is holding true to horror film logic in his choice of victims.

How come Max still had hair after his transformation into a lizard? Was he still in the process of his transformation or will he be a hairy lizard?

I don't think his transformation was complete yet. I'm sure once he has fully transformed he won't have any hair, otherwise he would look just weird.

I would prefer he lose the hair and keep the awesome stache/beard combo in lizard form.

This wouldn't be the first comic to showcase Morbius's faults, namely his continual goal of using the "easiest" option. When he first tried to cure his disease, he didn't tell Martine purely because he didn't want to handle her knowing, even though it would have been in her best interest to know.

In Marvel Zombies 4, it's implied that he didn't test out his "zombie cure" before administering it, leading to Jack, arguably his best friend's turning.

And then there was his suicide attempt, where he didn't tell Jack what he was doing until he was basically forcing him to try and kill him.

And then there was freaking FrankenCastle, where he more or less allows thousands of innocent people to just so he can have the Bloodstone and not have his bloodlust, even though it's clearly killing him. Heck, he forced Frank Castle into living just so he could be "normal", or close to it.

And then there was the other Legion of Monsters mini, where he's prepared to kill even more people because the alternative is too difficult. Mind you, this is the same story where it's revealed that a vampire-witch used him to spread her demonic plague because he was easy to fool. Even Dracula brings up that Morbius is one of the most pitiful and pathetic people he's ever meant and that's why he's never taken seriously to the idea of killing him for being an abomination to true vampires.

So as we can clearly see, Morbius just may be one of the most pathetic, and biggest failures in the entire Marvel Universe.

Now that I think about it, this actually makes Spider-Man's anger at him all the more, well, painful. I mean, yeah, at this point, most of this is Morbius's fault and maybe killing him may actually save millions of lives as his past mistakes have shown, but he didn't mean to hurt anyone with this mistake. In his mind, he probably sees using Billy's dead body as being for the greater good and making the best out of a bad situation.

If she actually turns into a pseudo-vampire, then I would agree with you. I remember reading that Morbius actually does have a cure for people he turns into pseudo-vampires that just doesn't work on himself, but if she waits to long to take it or something, then it probably wouldn't work anyways. And the disease itself has been known to take a few days to actually show up. If she does turn, I think Peter and Max would feel way more guilt than anything.

What's funny though, is that poor Sajani would probably find more "support" if she were a true vampire, rather than a pseudo or "science" vampire. I don't think the real ones really like the fake ones too much...I mean, Morbius was at least able to build up some support.

Speaking of, did you get that part where Spidey rips the Twilight vampires because they're glittery and what not?
