I think what will happen is that Amazing Spider-Man will be quickly forgotten as time pass. It's a armless movie that people enjoyed. But the lame Lizard won't be missed, all the origin story was done before in Spider-Man so that will forgotten. And I think while Stone and Garfield had chemistry on screen, I think their relationship was not as important to the Spider-Man mythos as MJ and Peter in the Rami movie. I don't even like Dunst in the movies but it stroke a chord and will leave an imprint in people's psycho more than Gwen-Peter. I think Stone is always great but she didn't have much to work in this. The only thing Amazing did better was Spider-Man in action. While the Raimi flick was a small CGI cartoon in motion, in this one we could actually see a man doing the action scenes. (I thought it was lazy that Raimi didn't do that in fact) so I will say that the revamp was pretty useless.

They were both dreadful, but emma stone's face made sure GL sucked most.

I used to be a fan of the Spider-man comics, I started reading in the middle of the original Clone Saga (it was the issue where Peter was arrested for murder just after Aunt May died) and although recently I have moved away from the comics I have seen the movies and animations (I really enjoyed the new Ultimate series) and I have to say I really enjoyed the new movie, yes there were flaws and things I didn't like (flashing webshooters spring to mind) but overall I thought it was an entertaining exciting movie. Garfield makes a great Peter and as Spider-man he has the physique and the attitude.
Stone was really good as Gwen Stacy and combined there relationship was believable. The surrounding characters were mostly good, bar one or two but it seems clear that they are setting up those ideas for sequels. All in all I liked it which is more than I can say for Green Lantern a film that has almost nothing that works in it, the effects were woeful, the design was mediocre and the film was just badly made. Up there with Ghost-Rider and Spawn as the worst comicbook movies ever to be honest (and don't get me started on the others)

I loved ASM, surprised so many people on the internet didn't like it.

I didn't think ASM was bad. It did have some truly dumb moments though. And it seemed kinda... joyless.

Obviously Green Lantern is just a whole other level of awfulness though. Seriously, i consider it worse than the likes of Batman and Robin.

I really enjoyed TASM. It was far from perfect, but it got enough right to make it worthwhile for me. I have yet to see GL.

More I read the critics' reviews about Amazing Spider-Man, more I find the whole flick clunky and incomplete. Green Lantern was not good but it is similar to Spidey in that there were elements there that could have been salvaged but it's like there's a huge chunk missing like the FX were there, the actors were there but the writing wasn't. I thought Gwen and Peter were actually great togther, they have chemistry but they have nothing to work with. I hated Dunst' MJ in the other movies for example but Rami made her work her butt of on the first movie as far developement. It seems as if both GL and Amazing Spidey were rushed to the screen half-finished.

Yeah. It wasn't the blockbuster that say a movie like Ted was, but it was there.
