I completely agree, and unfortunately most of the times the A-lister come from what movies or tv shows are out (not that the Spider-Man 3 movie helped Venom, but maybe the new Venom film will, if that ever comes out) which I think is unfair for the past A-listers like Daredevil or Punisher or whoever else there could be/have been. It seems like with Marvel all we are going to get right now is the heroes in the movies being the A-listers and I hope that changes at some point. But it most likely won't.

it's only tired if the events are bad. there's nothing tired about big things happening in good comics. avx gets a few points since the last couple of issues have been good. siege was pretty great.
anyway since two huge faces of the company have made money in multiple films i'm pretty sure i won this one. it's not up for debate. daredevil and punisher constitute A-list if anyone does.

[The X-Men are all asleep in their beds except for Storm who happened to be heading home after a long night of patrolling for activity. She hears an alarm off in the distance and responds to it only to find that Pyro has broken into a local Pizza Hut and is destroying the place. Storm - "Pyro? My....what are are you doing here at this hour destroying our local Pizza Hut? Home of the delicious cheese baked pizza crust!"

Pyro - "It was late and I was hungry, they stopped delivering at midnight and I needed my fix!"

Storm - "That's understandable, I too know what it's like to partake in their fire baked pizza and delicious sides such as potato wedges and chicken crispers, especially at the low price of only $4.99. But this is madness, you must leave now.!"

Pyro - "The only thing that's going to make me leave this freshly baked 4-cheese pizza with medium soft drink for only $9.99 is if you offer me a second one at half price!"

    Storm -"You got it!"

Pizza Hut Manager (popping up out of nowhere) - "That's right Pyro, for this week only we're offering a 4-cheese large pizza and medium soft drink for only $9.99, and if you order a second pizza it's only half price! Bring the family, bring the kids, and enjoy the nations best pizza for an insanely low price!"

[The manager opens a box and offers Storm and Pyro a slice and they oblige. The remainder of the X-Men show up and look stunned at what's going on.]

Cyclops - "I'm glad we got here when we did, this is madness! A deal this good should be enjoyed by everyone, right team!"

    Team in unison - "Yaaaaay!"

fraction, remender, aaron, and now rucka all wrote outstanding punisher stories on top of ennis's work
there really hasn't been a point where those books weren't good for years now. same goes daredevil.

And would the X-Men then have to fight . . . Little Caesar and Papa John?!?

Shifting creators around is exactly how to reload a comic universe. Fresh perspectives all around is exactly what Marvel needed - it was due. Beats the hell out of completely wiping your universe clean and pissing off the long timers ala DC. Bendis surely told his Avengers stories, same with Hickman over on FF4, Brubaker on Cap - the list goes on and on. Ive become a big fan of Hickman's work since, for example - so im going to follow him over to Avengers.

Jason Aaron lies outside of that line of huge huge runs - he has been doing this since day one at Marvel - short but sweet kickass runs on multiple characters/books.
    Valiant comics: All (!)
    Marvel: Avengers/NA/U.Avengers, Aaron's Thor, Ult Spider-Man
DC: Batman Inc, Azzarello's Wonder Woman
Other: Cobra Files, Hellboy, Fables, Hellblazer TPBs

    theflyingfrogunderdog,
Your deleted post was not on topic about the subject at hand. Rather it was simply a paragraph bashing the company and yelling that everything SUCKS in your opinion and they are getting their BUNS kicked. Continuing to argue with moderation and/or troll Marvel Forum conversations will lead to further deletions if not more. Now folks, let us try to get back to the discussion at hand and cease personal battles. Thanks - GH

Scarlet Spider is as good a comic as I've ever read. Anyone who says Marvel has no more creativity and isn't making good comics is clearly not reading that or stuff like Winter Soldier, the Ultimates, etc. There's some great stuff in there.

How is this thread a "topic" ? Is Marvel doing anything different? From what i heard, it's just a bunch of #1 issues. Not much to talk about.

There are good stories being told by both companies. And some bad ones too. The problem is a lack of readers willing to pay $2.99 or $3.99 for them. The market isn't bringing in new readers which is why all you hear about are attempts to bring back lapsed readers. With a very few exceptions only adults who grew up with comics when prices were reasonable are still reading them because we are the only ones who can afford the but we are an ever diminishing market. Some of us finally grow out of comics, some of us die as we get older, some of us no longer can afford them, and some just are tired of the event / gimmick cycle where nothing really matters and nothing ever really changes.
Price your book at $3.99 and I'll trade wait. Make me wait too long for the trade PAPERback and I'll say screw it. I'm looking at you Marvel and Spider Island.
