Yes, but the clay doesn't make her ageless. It was the gods' blessing. I think it was Aphrodite's, but it could've been all of the goddesses or something. I know Aphrodite's blessings made weapons disappear on most of Themyscera and this (only pre-crisis, though).

In some stories it's actually been stated that as he absorbs more solar radiation that he becomes more powerful and completely stops aging.. It's really up to the writer.. But they can be explained.. Bats can't be without making him something that isn't Bats..

The Amazons were just chilling one day, and Heracles stopped by to acquire Hippolyta's girdle. He raped her and captured the Amazons. Athena agreed to help Hippolyta, if the Amazons didn't kill Heracles and his men. I don't know why that was part of the deal. It seems really out of character from the myths. She was a vengeful dick in the myths, like the rest of them. Athena freed the Amazons and they killed Heracles and his men. But not Heracles. He got away with the girdle. Hippolyta's sister, Antiope, led an army of Amazons to retrieve it and some stuff went down with that, whatever.
The gods sent the Amazons to guard the door to Hades as punishment for breaking the promise to Athena because she is a bitch. They lived, immortal, on Paradise Island for thousands of years.
Hippolyta eventually grew broody, and sculpted a baby from magic clay from a magic, evil cave. She prayed night and day and finally the gods granted her wish; they breathed life into the lifeless child, making her real.
