Default Phoenix to resurrect Sentry/Void from Cyclops' mind

I know this stands exceedingly little chance of taking place in AvX, but the circumstances would allow it to make sense. Cyclops is presently carrying around a "sliver" of the Void in his mind which he has, thus far, been able to repress. If the theme of the Phoenix is rebirth/rising from ashes - or evolution in Cyke's perception - it seems the Phoenix could very well resurrect ol' Bob Reynolds from that tiny piece of him in Scott Summers' brain, particularly because the Phoenix also happens to be residing in that same head space.

While sticking with the evolution/rebirth theme, Sentry could be brought back with the Void part of himself purged by the refining flame of the Phoenix.

The Void is stuck in Scott's mind, it's as good as demotivated 4ever.

Would be a cool twist on Sentry/Void lore but truthfully, I think a better ending would be that the Phoenix go to a new host (not Hope), reveal itself not to be that bad but admonish all parties fro not being smart enough to use it's powers to restore the planet properly before jetting off into space.

If, after the devolution of the Phoenix from Scots system, Scott is weakened into a comatose state, I can see the Void enforcing his will over Scott. Then Scott Summers would be the new Sentry. He'd have the madness, because he was a God in AVX, and he'd want to change the world his way.

pretty sure that burning that tiny sliver of the Void into ashes would be one of the first things the Phoenix Force did upon entering Scott's mind.

If we are lucky, the writers will retcon it and act like the Void never happened. The Sentry needs to be regulated to low-budget titles, and never be allowed to interact with the X-Men ever again. The Void-sliver thing was just another classic example of Marvel using the X-Men as lab rats for bad ideas they want to experiment with but don't want to burden other Marvel properties with.

It does seem rather arbitrary that Cyclops ended up with that thing in his head. He must have a secondary mutant ability to hold back or compartmentalize his thoughts. That dude is so repressed Emma hasn't even figured out he's gay.

the thread idea seems horrible, but I love the title. Kudos for posting a title that would fit in any sensationalist magazine! I love how it totally makes you believe this is something that is happening

I think it's been established that the Void disappeared the moment Sentry died. So I don't think it would be a factor in any of the X-books or with Cyclops moving forward.

Indeed, perhaps a question mark was in order at the end of the title(?). Amazingly, the Sentry won a poll about a year on comicbookmovie.com about whom fans would like to see next in a Marvel Studios feature. Trolling was suspected, and for good reason because there is no way the big yellow guy with the weird pro wrestling title belt actually would have won a popular vote.

The whole thing with Emma placing part of the Void in Cyclops' head still just seems bizarre.

No question mark ever. I was honest when I said I loved the title.
