All Superman has to do is cover himself with yellow paint, then hit the GL with a yellow pencil (to cover both yellow and wood) and he's done.

    It's not 1970 anymore...

Yeah, now he doesn't have to bother with this. All he has to do now is punch the green stuff until it breaks.

Doomsday? The guy who beat up DARKSEID? Alright, my droog.

FWIW, the 86-93 Superman was clearly at a lower power level than any other Superman, as well.

Because killing an unknown adversary before they've had a chance to surrender doesn't keep you on the police force. They are cops. They have rules.

I wonder if the naysayers are okay with an experienced Hal's bubble being burst by Diana?

I thought Hal's bubble gave way too easily myself. A being as strong as Diana could conceivably shatter Hal's bubble after multiple attempts and some effort, but what we saw in this week's JUSTICE LEAGUE issue was a little too easy.

My reasoning for that was, basically, he didn't put it up to restrain her - but by putting it up he ticked her off.

With Superman, 5 years ago, he had no idea how strong the guy is/was but knew he was strong, which is why it took two hits.

GL rings (depending on the wielder, of course) should be able to handle at least a few blows from Superman/Wonder Woman-level beings because, after all, we once saw Kyle Rayner contain a supernova in a bubble.

Then again, New 52 physics might be different from old DCU physics.

But that's entirely dependent on the strength of the construct they've knowingly created. Kyle knew he was going to have to contain an exploding sun, so he made a construct strong enough.

If, with Diana, Hal had no intention of actually restraining her, the construct wouldn't be as strong as he would need it to be if his intent had been to restrain.

Similarly with Superman, if he didn't know exactly how strong Superman was, and didn't peg him to be 'stronger than X', then the shielding would reflect that intent.

I'll buy that, though it shows a stupefying lack of judgment on Hal's part not to reinforce the bubbles more knowing (at least in the case of Wonder Woman) with whom he was dealing.

On the other hand, it's a good thing he didn't reinforce the bubble - he would have received a lot more than a ring-feedback-bloody-nose if Diana had actually (properly) refocused her anger directly at Hal.

That's evidently so for New 52 Hal. I suspect old DCU Hal or Silver Age Hal would have done better.
