Well, the Xenos are obviously getting eaten. I suppose you could maybe call it a ten count that the Thing gets torn apart first if it starts as a dog or a human... But not without infecting its opponents.

I just wanted to say that the mouth in a mouth thing may be creepy and intimidating but beyond that I can only think of it as a weakness.

Yeah, there's really no way for this to end in any way except the Thing adding Aliens to its repertoire of stolen phenotypes.

I see it as a draw. Thing violently invades the xeno, gets acided, repeat. I guess Thing wins since part of it might not touch the acid and run away.

Well that would go with the assumption that the only cells aliens have are covered in acid. Otherwise the thing cells will shift into alien cells and get it's immunity to it's acid blood.
Yeah I give up. They would need like a bajillion UNs to take it out. And they would all have to work.

Exactly. The Alien's carapace is obviously resistant to its own acid, or it would dissolve itself. Also, the Alien is created out of human tissue, so it's not as though it's an issue of being made out of something the Thing would not be able to affect, either.

The Alien "shell" is so hard that handgun bullets don't pierce it from mid distances, and not effected by large pressure changes. To get in there, anyway, the Thing would have to somehow pierce it violently, which would then release the blood. The thing has never been shown to envelope something, and, in one on one situations, has always acted instinctually and attempted violent takeover.

Why couldn't it just go through the mouth? Looks pretty soft in there. In the original thing the doctor assimilated that one guy mouth first.

Acid for blood melts The Thing down to small particles which are used as secreted resin for the Alien queen's spinal looking wall!

Either that or it is torn to pieces by hordes of onrushing Aliens that take no prisoners when the hive is threatened!

The Aliens are hard to take over since they are soulless creatures with strict single minded purposes giving The Thing nothing to grow on as a symbiotic parasite!

This is all well and good, but the Alien literally has nothing to kill the Thing. The only thing it has is the acid blood and, well... it needs that to live.

The Thing could be burned which is essentially what the acid blood could do plus as depicted in Aliens vs Predator as well as Alien Resurrection an Alien could be bled out to escape or burn through certain confinements or restraints.

Also in Alien Resurrection one of the Aliens spit acid on the face of a person.

Aliens are survivors that adapt to multiple environments and heal well unless they are completely killed by massive firepower like rapid machine gun fire or Predator shoulder cannons.

The Thing never showed much outside of altering human flesh and that ridiculous tentacled creature at the end that apparently got blown up... Which is fire!

Why does the Thing even need to pierce the Alien? It attacks on a cellular level. You just gotta touch it wrong.

    The Thing's genius victory plan:

    1: Play dead.
    2: Get eaten.
    3: Win!
