Seriously, though, the days of "oh, I'll just go grab an easy to find shit job" are over. There's actually heavy competition for shit jobs now, and even a hint of "overqualfied" gets you put in the reject pile, because there's so many that aren't.
Sad but true. I feel bad for all the high school and college kids struggling to find summer work. The best time I ever had was being a dishwasher for a summer when I was 17. Even something that menial isn't an option for kids anymore

    Morning people.
What have I always believed? That, on the whole, and by and large, if a person lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out ok.

    Morning, Puma.

Spider-Man movie with my brother tonight. First sleep-over date with the new boyfriend tomorrow. The dreaded snore-test!
    My blog.

Honestly, if trying to get those jobs gets you out of the house with the chance to actually get one, especially when there is zero money coming in...

jessecuster3 must've missed the part where they're not there:

    A) Its New York not Podunk, Michigan.

B)Have you not been paying attention to the decreasing unemployment numbers, jobs are coming back, its really only government jobs where unemployment is increasing.

Yes but the snore test goes both ways!

I'm participating in the Relay for Life this weekend, twenty four hours of walking around the track at the local college. We actually walk in shifts but it is a lot of walking.

    jessecuster3 has one point:

    A) Its New York not Podunk, Michigan.
Unemployment rate in Michigan is currently 8.5. In New York it's 8.6.

B)Have you not been paying attention to the decreasing unemployment numbers, jobs are coming back, its really only government jobs where unemployment is increasing.
This is true, and steps in the right direction. It's far from making a big difference at the bottom level, yet, though. It's still a "different world" out there. The old "pound the pavement" method doesn't work any more. It takes a lot of luck or connections to hit at the right time when they need someone and haven't already got a stack of applications sitting by the phone. Plus, he kind of got let go in a bad way. That's gonna hamper him.

Warner Bros basically saying they wanna expose the characters beyond Superman and Batman the next couple of years and then do movies makes sense.

yeah, but he is already hampered by getting no unemployment, why is it so bad to actually pound the pavement and apply everywhere? Especially when the only other thing to do is sit at the pc all day sending resumes.

Because sending resumes via PC is more productive.

When was the last time you looked for a job?

Agreed, but I knew I could only do it for so long before I started going stir crazy. I was really saying that he could do both searches.

For me its been a while but my girlfriend just spent over a year unemployed in the last 2 years I know what she went through while looking in a very niche industry that was ravaged by the crash. She did and has friends that found retail jobs because that was all that was available.
