I noticed that too. I also noticed how he jumped to the Glen Morgan building earlier on. It looked as if he could control the direction in mid jump. Possibly hinting at his developing flight ability.

I'm a few years into reading golden age superman right now, and you'll often see the same suggestion of controlled descent in panels.

Jon Wilson of the golden age superman podcast suggested that maybe shuster wanted superman to fly and siegel was reluctant.

I think Morrison said he can't fly quite yet, but he CAN kind of jump-fly. I personally rather like that, maybe even a bit more than straightforward flight.

Ok so I'm not the only one who noticed that too. Didn't Morrison say the flight power was in it's infancy at the time?
