I hope they use the post-Conquest team uniforms.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

This is a very risky feature. I just hope they keep the budget reasonable and don't go crazy with the numbers.

all my friend and family consider me the "comic geek" and i don't even know what the shit that is.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

It might be pretty effects heavy, though, and need the numbers?
I agree, at first hearing of this, it sounds like their riskiest movie yet. But I'll see it, regardless. So there's 1 movie ticket sold at least.

If Disney has learned anything from their experience with John Carter and the financial brick walls which they are now bashing up against with the ever expanding budget of the Lone Ranger I think they will more than likely try to stick to the narrow road of caution in the production of 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.

Risky to come with this series.

It really is a good comic though.

But not that mainstream, maybe after the movie we can have a guardians of the galaxy tv-series.

Hmmm, aren't we also getting rumours of Ant Man getting a post credits scene tagged on to Iron Man 3?

I could see Guardians spinning out of Avengers 2, after helping with the Thanos battle, but I can't see Guardians leading in to Avengers 2 myself, else that gives Avengers 2 a really huge cast if you have to try and feature both teams.

Surely it would make more sense to introduce a small Guardians team, or even one or two of the main Guardians in Avengers 2, then have them say they will look after space while the Avengers go home, spinning off for their movie where they recruit some more and can have their own spotlight?

I'm excited for anything cosmic, but I can't say this would make the most amount of sense to me before A2.

If they do go for it, I wonder if Nova will join the GotG, and if he does, will it be Rich Ryder or will it be the ersatz Loeb Nova?

This makes me giddy like a schoolboy! I LOOOOOOVE this team (DnA pretty much batted .1000 with all their Marvel cosmic stuff), and I'm simply elated that they're even being considered for a major movie adaptation.

Rocket Raccoon! Groot! Maybe even Nova (whom I've heard will be included)!!!

I definitely agree that it's risky, but I think this'll be risky in a good way. They just need a really dynamic script, and DnA better help consult!

I would love to at least see Nova fly by. But I don't know if Marvel would do it. They may not want a flying hero in it. What they should be targeting is ANNIHILATION!!! The story is already written and is epic.

They can't do Annihilation because the rights of Annihilus and Galactus, Surfer etc are with Fox.

This movie could be awesome. It needs to have a bizarre sense of humour to it though. It could be successful, it's all about marketing. And with the success of Avengers make it be known that the stories are all linked. I'm sure Thanos will be involved.

Reading about "that 2008 version", I knew each and every one of them. Looking at the illustration, I couldn't recognize a single one. If it wasn't for the words "court death" and the smile that followed, I wouldn't have been 100% sure that was Thanos at the end of "The Avengers".

If Disney goes for a "soft" PG-13, I could see this movie working. Walking, talking trees are already in the public consciousness due to Lord of the Rings and talking animals have been part of the movie going culture for years. I think there are enough aspects to appeal to a wide veriety of people. I doubt it will make Avengers money, but if they can keep the budget around $150 Million, they could make that back and then some domestically and any international money would be all profit, I would imagine.
