Dark Horse Comics is reprinting the orginal Eerie and Creepy magazines in hardback.

They are also publishing a new Creepy magazine with a mixture of odl and new material.

Bernie Wrightson, one of the classie Warren artists, is currently doing a new series: Frankenstein, alive! Alive! for IDW.

The very cool Jason Paulos is doing a magazine inspired by the Warren magazines called Eek!. The US edition is published by Asylum Press.

i asked a similar question years ago, i always wondered why there's so little western horror comics. i mean we had Crossed, and TWD, but i'm drawing a blank after that. oh and there is Hack/Slash, but i got bored with it and dropped it.
Okay, before this thread this is what I knew about Tish, zip, zero, nada.
I now know that Tish is a heavily armed, black, bi-sexual, truck driving woman who likes going to the clubs.

The Sixth Gun has a lot of horror elements and is flat out awesome.

Lansdale/Truman Vertigo Jonah Hex comics from the '90s pushed the horror "weird Western" vibe.

Alejandro Jodorowsky's Bouncer series has its share of horrific elements, although more towards the surreal and strange than the grusome.

EDIT: I thought you meant "western" with a capital "W". The best flat out horror comics of recent years are David Hine's Strange Embrace and John Smith's Cradlegrave, plus the Radical HC of Dan Abnett, John Tomlinson, Gary Erskine, and Peter Snjeberg's Lord of Misrule is a great reprint of an excellent '90s horror comic tinged with Celtic folklore. Rich Corben's Ragemoor is the best horror comic of the moment.

Bela Lugosi's TALES FROM THE GRAVE would be the closest in vibe to what you looking for(IMO), except it's in colour.

Shock Till You Drop says: Bela #Lugosi's Tales from the Grave is a great comic...a fantastic [horror] anthology...Put this one on your pull list kids...it's got more quality work than most of the Big 2's #comics

WOW! "Maybe it's that I didn't grow up with the comics so I can't appreciate them like some people. Maybe it's the relevance factor, the comics aren't as well known now or as circulated as they once were. I'm not sure. But those reading those comics made me long for an anthology comic of my own, sure we have Dark Horse Presents and The Theater but neither of those have the same feeling that those comics did. But now we have something that channels those comics and fits into the modern horror mythos with Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave."

Is "Vincent Price presents" still being published?

I picked up Christophe Bec and Stefano Raffaele's Pandaemonium from Humanoids earlier this week, and I highly recommend it, particularly if you like your horror more grounded in reality and history. It's a good companion to Strange Embrace.

Great book, very entertaining and creepy.

Munoz and Tirso's Whispers in the Wall, Mattotti's Stigmata, & T. Ott's The Number 73304-23-4153-6-96-8 are worth checking out too.

EDIT: Richard Sala's work is a must read for horror fans.

Bela Lugosi's tales from the grave seems to be hiatus or something...either that or the publisher rarely puts out titles on a monthly basis(which seems to be the case)

An All new Version of Eerie comics came out recently but it only comes out two times during a year...bummer
