Miles commented that he knew the Ultimates had crazy stuff going on in their own lives, but more to the point....I never get why people think Miles would really be all that involved. He's a kid living in a very small corner of the world. Outside of him going out of his way to bring up the events in other books which have little bearing on his story at the moment, I don't get what people want. He's in his own little corner of the world.

Like I said, I think the USM title is taking place before the nuking of DC at the very least. In that title, he's only been Spidey for a couple weeks max. Fury popping up supports that. I'd say it's safe to assume that we'll see Miles' story catch up pretty soon. I just assume the first 12 issues and Spider-Men take place before everything went REALLY nuts over in Ultimates.

noone is saying that miles should be a major player in the current events. by all means, put him into his own little corner of the unvierse. but it is simply inconcievable that people in new york would just live their ordinary lives while europe just disappeared of the map. at the very least there would be a lot of unease and fear. i mean come on, several countries get annihilated overnight, and schools just continue functioning as usuual??
my problem is that bendis still acts like nothing is happening at all and that miles`s entire surroundings are just living their normal mundane lives.

It's not just that either. It's been clearly shown that in Ultimate X-Men that there were riots going on and riot police. ANd not to mention that a few hundred sentinels just killed thousands of mutants. maybe it will all be shown in divided we fall.

Not when he's taking on the role as spider man, you would be right if he was taking on the role of a brand new character, most likely people wouldn't care. But you have a dude
whose literally following in the same footsteps as the largest hero that was killed most likely in the ultimate universe. Hell, Kitty doesn't even know if the new spidey is even peter parker or not, there hasn't been a single discussion from xmen when a small portion of the xmen were some of the best friends that peter had. Especially with these "wars" going on,
the ultimates know that this "13 year old kid" is around, and would like to look after the dude or discuss plans to make sure miles doesn't end up the same way as peter.
There is many options to prove that miles should have made at least some discussion in both the xmen and ultimates, and have failed at either, which reflects my point that all the comics are sticking in their own bubble.

Fair enough. But at the same time, it seems like a lot of the really terrifying stuff hasn't really happened yet. If you think about it, in Miles' own title, only two weeks or so have gone by since him becoming Spider-Man. I agree that it seems like there would be a lot more unease with what's happening in Europe or the riots in X-Men, but then again....this stuff really seems to happen quite a lot in the MU. Like I said, it looks like we're going to see those ramifications in DWF.

I agree that it would have been nice to even have one or two lines beyond Miles saying he's read the sites and knows that the Ultimates have too much on their plate to help him out, but...eh. I don't think it's a huge deal.

Isn't everyone including Miles going to get thrown into the cauldron of Divided We Fall real soon now? Answers will then be given.

    Exclamation

I completely agree with pgtyner and refrax5's view on the continuity of Ultimate Comics Spiderman. And here's me thinking I was the only one who thought this. Yet I have nothing else to add other than the fact that I think that UCSM #12 will reveal Stryker's attack as the new Nimrod Sentinel army begins to sweep the US. I reckon on the final page of issue #12 Miles will learn of the oncoming Nimrod invasion and thus Divided We Fall will have truly begun for all Ultimate Comics. Let the cohesion commence!

Best pat of the issue for me was when Fury tells Miles you take care of him. Miles reaction was perfect.
