Default Lemire's Justice League Dark Appreciation

Had to put the Lemire part in to seperate it from what came before and maybe this thread will inspire people to give this book another chance.

2 issues in and this is fast becoming one of my favourite books. Great mix of characters. Plots that actually make me want to read more. Also a goo dense read too. It felt much longer than it's 20 pages, especially the last issue.

There are even subplots. I'm looking forward to seeing who is pure enough to control the Books of Magic. I know who the likely suspect it but in the new 52 I guess all bets are off.

Also does anybody else that we could be seeing Dr Fate and Death soon with the books representing, life, death, chaos and order.

So anyhow I thought this book deserved some extra attention to maybe help avoid it being lost in the shuffle.

I absolutely loved issue 9! I can't wait to read this issue. I'm looking forward to the long-game, particularly if it brings more of the Mystical/early Vertigo things into play (which seems to be the way it's going). I hope we get to see Cain and Abel in the near future.

Also having the "House of Mystery" as the teams base Gives DC the perfect opportunity to turn the book into a $3.99 book with a nice little "Tales From The House of Mystery" back-up :D

I'd be surprised to see Fate. I'm more looking for Fate to show up eventually in Earth 2 as he's more a Golden Age Hero.

Dr. Fate is probably not going to appear here since I think DC is saving him for Earth 2.

Still, the characterization, action and worldbuilding is great so far, I'm loving it.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.

Maybe the Lords of chaos and Lords of Order will represent those respective books?

Did you see this reported somewhere, or it's just a guess?

Just a guess but it makes sense since Dr. Fate is a staple of both the Golden Age and the Justice Society, besides they're already establishing Dr. Mist as the "Sorcerer Supreme" of the main DCU.

So far, Lemire has quickly managed to turn a mediocre book that had a lot of potential into a great book that has a lot of potential. I'm basing this solely on #9, mind you, but given the strength of that issue and Lemire's work on other books, it would take quite a lot for JLD to significantly drop in quality.
    Current favorites:

    DC: Smallville, Supergirl, Detective Comics
Marvel: Ultimate X-Men, Scarlet Spider, X-Factor, Thor
Other: Saga, Angel & Faith, Buffy

Fate is somethkng that can exist in both worlds due to dofferent people wearing it.

Also why seperate from the milligan stuff.
    Dc: Action Comics/Animal Man/Swamp Thing/Earth-2/Green Arrow/Batman/Threshold/Batwoman/Justice League/Green Lantern/Teen Titans/Superman/Justice League Dark/I,Vampire.

They've already said they are trying to avoid duplication..

Mediocre action/plot movement wise but had great character development with Milligan but Lemire was right; this is a book that NEEDS fast-pacing and action.

They have said they are going to avoid all but the most crucial duplications. Green Lantern (Scott) and Flash (Garrick) get a pass because they are fundamental to Earth 2 and the Justice Society, everyone less crucial will be getting new names and possibly reasons for being.
Dr. Fate (most likely Kent) is more connected to Earth 2 than he is to Earth 1, so he will probably appear there, while another takes up his role of importance on Earth 1...like Zatanna perhaps, maybe Tim Hunter.

Issue 9 was neat and secured me reading the series from henceforth. Its pretty much everything I wanted this to be from the first time I heard about it. Constantine and Deadman banter makes me smile like an idiot.

I think they should leave Dr. Fate to Earth2

Instead, give DCnU the Jared Stevens Fate from the ninties. Under-appreciated character who would fit in perfectly with the current JLD Line-up.
Bring back my DC! In the meantime, make mine Marvel and Image!
