Default What are the best Darth Vader comics by Dark Horse?

a question for those who have read Dark Horse's Star Wars books.

i've noticed there have been quite a few books that Darth Vader starred in, so which ones are best?

i mean books that are actually about him, not necessarily books that feature him in a lesser guest star capacity.

my favorites are the three purge one-shots and darth vader and the lost command.

i'm pretty sure the purge stories are collected in clone wars vol. 9: endgame

I wasn't all that happy with the first issue, it focused more on a random Imperial soldier and kept Vader in the background... no telling yet where it might lead tho

Vader has some good moments in the first Dark Times collection, but he isn't the focus. Also in the Rebellion series.

That's what I really liked about the first issue :). I'm jaded with Vader and the other main characters from the movies and always happy when the universe is expanded with new characters.

Even as Vader has only a smaller role in the first issue of Ghost Prison I think it could be interesting for crossbones. According to the solicitations it seems that Vaders role is becoming more important. And showing Vader from the viewpoint of a loyal imperial officer who admires him might be interesting for a Vader fan.

Other great Vader stories were the Vader's Quest mini-series from 1999 (w/great art from Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons) and Star Wars Tales #9, where Vaders fights a resurrected Darth Maul. That SWT issues is rare and hard to find IIRC...
Comics still reading: Saga, Sixth Gun, Walking Dead, All New X-Men, Daredevil, Fury MAX. DC New 52 isn't the worth the paper its printed on...
