"Desperate"...ha! Can you imagine? I think it's pretty clear who's "desperate".
There any way I could convince you not to read and just move on with your life? Your childish and constant need to be seen as that self-proclaimed "storytelling expert" you claim to be because of some class you took has sucked the joy out of you and made you boring. Your almost always wrong guesses (and invented anger BASED on your your wrong guesses) are cute, but relentless. "Carbon copy"? Please.
It's a super hero comic with a cool twist written and drawn by talented people, not a challenge at a bar. Maybe get over yourself just a little.

Marvel has announced that as part of Spider-Man's 50th anniversary celebration, the world's favorite wall-crawler will take on a sidekick courtesy of Dan Slott and Humbert Ramos.
Full article here.
I don't have a good feeling about this. Sidekicks aren't really my thing.
As I said in the other thread, sidekicks aren't my favorite thing so I don't have the best feeling about this. Here's hoping Dan Slott surprises me.
Not sure about this, seems gimmicky. There are certain characters where a sidekick just isn't a good fit (points to tony Daniels cat girl) but I'm sure it'll make a good read as long as the kid doesn't get killed in a few weeks or they go the "it's not what I teach them but what they teach me route" which is pure schmaltzyness.
Books im reading: Batman, Catwoman, Animal Man, JLA, Wonder Woman, Red Hood, Journey into Mystery, Sword of Sorcery.......
Maybe I feel "meh" about this because of all the years I've heard how stupid a side kick would be for spider-man or just about any marvel Hero.
It might have been an old letter column or maybe a tv interview, but I remember Stan Lee talking about how dumb the idea was, and it didn't fit with marvel's style. He also talked about why there were o capes at Marvel if I remember right. I guess Rick Jones never really fit the role of side kick.
BAD TOUCHSCREEN TYPER
I dropped Spider-Man shortly after Brand New Day started and I honestly haven't missed it. This whole, sidekick thing just shows how right I was to drop it when I did.
I'm open to the idea of spider man having a sidekick, I just wonder why Slott made a new character when they could have used Anya?
Divorces would age him too much, but not being a guy with a high paying science job and mentoring young heroes
BAD TOUCHSCREEN TYPER
Exactly. Marvel used to have its own style and feel to it. It felt different from DC. Nowadays though, that feeling is just gone. The Marvel universe doesn't feel unique anymore, at least not to me. I don't know if it's the cross pollination of writers/artists or if it's the fact that Marvel seems intent on trying to create its own version of Batman/Superman, but that spark is just gone.
The Marvel universe just became bland.
I did not see this coming.
There's a bit of Spider-Man in all of us.
