The first thing I thought of when I saw Superman strapped into the electric chair was a somewhat similar scene in the Philip Wylie novel "Gladiator," which served as a primary inspiration for the Man of Steel. In the novel, Hugo Danner was captured, strapped to a chair, and was being tortured. The scene in the novel was never really believable to me, simply because Hugo Danner was much too powerful to be stopped like that. However, for a young, underpowered Superman, it works.

Unfortunately He forgot about the scene where Luthor tests Superman's might using acid and the electric chair which is based on the old Superman Sunday Newspaper strips:http://supermanthrutheages.com/tales...ofevil/?page=9 but other wise it's a good read and really enjoyable.

interesting, I didn't know the history of 'metalo' so that was pretty clever of morrison to do it the way he did

I also didn't notice clark's face healed when he was close to the ship so that's pretty interesting

I missed this one of the annotations - was just thinking about Action Comics, and how I'd enjoyed the CBR annotations for the first issue, but hadn't seen any others. Not as much packed in there this time, but still a good read. I totally owe the writer a drink for pointing out the little fella who keeps showing up - I hadn't noticed that when the issues were coming out, and now I've read these and done a re-read, I'm noticing weird little people all through the series.
Are we a bit overdue for another one of these? I hope more come soon.

This is the first I've ever heard of a Superman movie script by Morrison, and I keep my ears out for news like that - does anyone have extra info about this, or and this will be pushing it I'm sure, a copy of it?
