Alright, who spilled their ketchup all over Cap's shield? I blame Hawkeye.

Interestingly, the Thor and Cap teasers have had "October 2012" written in blue, while the Wolverine teaser has it in yellow. Perhaps the fallout of AvX is the focus of this, and not just the Ultron War or Reckoning War happening while they're at their lowest point?
The teasers also seem to have an elements theme to them. Cap's shield seems to be in water, Thor's hammer hit by lightning from the sky, Wolverine in fire.

Maybe this time we can have an event where it isn't heroes vs heroes? Please? Maybe? Just a little one? Go on.
Same old characters. I imagine same old writers.
I doubt this is the Retribution War. Surely we would be seeing a Gauntlet or a She Hulk fist by now.
I personally want Bendis to write this.
'If you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, its not because they enjoy solitude. It's because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them'
So the first guess by most is that this refers to the oft mentioned Ultron War.
But then theres a theory that because its revealed at the Spiderman panel it'll have something to do with some kinda meme Dan Slott has been seeding the Marvel U with over the last 5 years...
But I think I know...
Spiderman is sought out, once more, by the Captain-Universe-power-force. In response to this the Xmen, fearful of what the Captain Universe may do, put together several strike forces to capture Spiderman before he makes contact. This not only involves an invasion of Aunt mays house in Queens, but also creating a team with their most powerful player that goes off in the opposite interstellar direction on an obscure plot tangent that convieniently removes them from the story of three months. But spidey is an Avenger now, so they rally round him and run interference on the Xmen while they wait for Captain Universe. Then for some stoopid reason Captain Universe gets split fiveways and five avengers become total gods who decide to erase the Xmen. And all this takes place without any involvement of the Fantastic Four because that would require Franklin Richards to unmake any inconvienient effects of the event, or at least send his lapdog Galactus who he can control now, because he is the most powerful being ever to exist.
And just as the event gets halfway, and the promotions are hinting that there will be big, dramatic, possible permanent permanent effects to the Xmen, Marvels marketing dept will start promoting the next event with images that basically undermine the narrative of the current event by teling us that the Xmen will survive anyway.
Because hey, they might as well just redo the same story for every event.
Next weapon: Hawkeye's bow and quiver.
