Man I'm loving this series. Art and writing mesh so well...its an easy fun read. It's crazy how quickly Brian and Fiona create characters that you're instantly invested in...elements of the fantastic with oh so humanizing qualities in all of them. My only complaint is that its so good and such a smooth read that I burn through them...I WANT MORE!

Also, this is one of the first series that I'm buying digitally...and it's not so bad. I have the 1st issue in print, which I usually buy to sample and then trade wait, but I just couldn't hold out anymore. I'll still get a collected 12 issue hardcover or whatever oversized anything they put out. It's a great series, IMAGE is killing right now!

I'm a little confused...isn't this BKV only project right now? I think the same is true with Fiona Staples. Now, I'm no expert on how long it takes to make a comic book, but one book a month doesn't seem like it would be too difficult. I hope this doesn't turn into another Astonishing X-men scenario where, although the comics were amazing, Joss Whedon took forever to write his books and it was delay after delay. Thoughts?

I hear you and am worried about it too. It's taking a two-months pause, and afaik is the only comic book project for both creators. Let's hope it's just a one time only thing.

The creator has said that he's taking a break after the first arc to allow new readers time to pick up the first trade paperback.

Is Staples confirmed on the book long term/keep up with monthly schedule?

    Isn't she dead already?

I also greatly hope she's alive, it sure would be awkward onboard that rocketship otherwise.

I flipping loved this latest issue. Probably my pick of the week. I posted some pictures at the link in my signature if anyone is interested.

Read #6. BKV is the master of creating a hook, resolving said hook, and then setting up a new hook for the next issue. All the while the meat and potatoes of the issue build a world. It's great stuff.

Well well, I guess your opinion is slanted then. :)
