If I'm not mistaken, Billy and Tommy were a part of Mephisto, who was only using Pandy to find his missing pieces for him. They were never a part of MP's soul. Mephisto, as he's known for doing, lied to him.
I miss Master Pandemonium. He was a cool villian. I think milgrom drew him a bit stupidly, with the detachable missing demonn limbs and all, but Byrne managed to make him real scary as a vertible "abode of demons". Someone should bring him back.
(I don't think he's been used since he was last seen in WCA, has he?)
Peace
Was there only 2 Ultron stories and 2 Grim Reaper stories in WCA? I can't remember.
Should be more than that but can't be sure as well. The only 2 Ultron stories that i can recall off hand is the one where Ultron team-up with the reaper to turned the WCA into some sort of robots and then there's one where Ultron was attacking the WCA compound with nanobots and vision showing up to help.
Reaper , besides the ultron story , was the involved in the beginning of the WCA when he team-up with man-ape , goliath etc. Think Ultron was also involved in that one.

I'm of that opinion too, What's with writers and their female characters, Englehart with Mantis, Stern with Monica Rambeault, etc..., it's like they fall in love with them. lol I aquired that Avengers run recently and while I like Mantis when she's a martial art badass, the whole Mantis saga started at some point then ends, then restart for like four or five issues. Quite ridiculous.
Kurt Busiek Says:"Best Avengers Run, Steve Englehart's run in the 1970s. With Roy Thomas's run that preceded it close behind, and the Conway/Shooter/Michelinie run that followed close behind that
Grim Reaper, yes. Two arcs. The First arc, with the Lethal Legion, and a Roy Thomas / Paul Ryan four issue arc #65 - 68, both which also featured Ultron. Both have recently been reprinted in TPB.
Ultron, apart from the above, also was featured in WCA #7, in the story with the good Ultron (also reprinted in the same TPB with the opening arc), and in a three parter that introduced Alkhema #89-91, still to be reprinted. Ultron also was the Villain in WCA annual #8, which introduced a new character called Raptor, I think, which, as far as I know, was never seen again. He also appeared in Byrne's first issue (and a lot in flashback in that firts arc) but it turned out not to be him, and just a fake. That makes five appearences, making Ultron the most recurring villain of the West Coast Avengers.

Just finished the Along Came a Spider-Woman TPB, and am about to start the Family Ties one (though, maybe, I'll read that after the Trail of YellowJacket TPB, since the stories are more or less connected). GREAT READ! God, I miss those days of fun comics. Dr. Demonicus and the Pacific Overlords were great villains, and they, and Demonica, relly should make a come back and be more explored.
Peace
with all the avengers titles now you would think WCA return would be a no brainer
I think because of Avengers Academy, the return of West Coast Avengers was somewhat unecessary. The instructors of the Academy were essentially a team of Avengers living on the West Coast in the WCA compound. I think you can think of that as essentially West Coast Avengers.
Though I'm not sure if the book is still going to be around in Marvel Now so who knows.
