Yep. Torch/Vision have less history than Jean/Phoenix but their story is just as convulated as Jean/Phoenix.

Maybe not a tear, but certainly deep misgivings over measures he was forced to take in Marvel Comics #1. Can't find an actual tear, but the sentiment is there. A better example will surely follow, but here is an entity doing damage that he clearly regrets and cannot control. Look:

I don't know about crying, but robots developing human feelings happens in the very first work to even use the word "robot," the 1920 Czech play R.U.R. I'm sure there was an oily tear or two somewhere in all of the science fiction that was written before the Vision was introduced, too.

Edit: Yeah, I checked the full text of R.U.R. and it ends with the robot Helena showing that she has feelings by crying about her lover and asking she be dissected in his place, convincing the last surviving human character to declare them the new Adam and Eve.
