But Namor. I never knew he was an Avenger. Is he still one? He did turn up at the Mansion in a big group after AD. That means Namor is both and X-Man and an Avenger.
Namor was on the team with Hercules and they were always picking fights with each other. In Marvel time it was probably about a years time more or less. He was asked back at one point and He laughed and said something like you always made me laugh Rogers.

Mockingbird was never against the team but she stole plans at one point and she was at odds over the whole Phantom Rider thing. I would not qualify either as evil though.

Namor was an Avenger twice during the classic Roger Stern & John Buscema run. He ended up having... marital problems and left. He is still an Avenger in my mind, regardless of this X-Men phase he is going thru.

Well he is Invader, Avenger, Defender, X-man, has he ever been on the FF offically?

Wonderman - I would put him in the second group as he's evil now
Namor - I would put him in the second group because he's evil now.
    Mockingbird
D-Man - I would put him in the second group as he's Evil now.

    2. Avengers of Evil

Ultron - I'm only saying Ultron because he's Pym's invention, but it may be a tenuous inclusion in this list
Kang - I don't care what the epilogue of Children's Crusade says - those crazy alternate universe people aren't our Avengers so no Kang. But he's part of this universe.
Loki - His time with the Mighty team would work.
    Wonder Man
Sandman definitely works. What a bad decision.
    Sentry
    D-Man
    Namor
I'd leave Ultron off the second list, otherwise we're going to get to add a ton of associated villains like Grim Reaper, original Black Knight, etc. We'll have a much easier time if it's just Avengers. ;)
I'd still leave Kang off the list. Just because we know a Kang doesn't mean that "our" Kang would be an Avenger. With all the sliding timelines and other crazyness inherent with a timetraveling warlord there's no way to verify that he would actually join our Avengers team unless he joined in a modern comic - if we add him we then get to go through all the alternate Avengers teams too. :)

Are you deciding to ignore the Dark Avengers team? I think they'd make good additions to Team 2. Specifically Norman Osborne (by hook or by crook for sure!)

Officially, I don't think so, but during DeFalco and Ryan's run, when Reed was believed dead, and he saw a chance with Sue, it was pretty close to official.

    Peace

(I still think Old Kang thought it very important to pluck Iron Lad out of the 616 to grow up to be him).

I'm surprised nobody has challenged me on Ultron or Kang, or even Loki.
I would challenge you on Ultron and Kang. They are just bad guys, not Avengers. I mean you wouldn't call Magneto an X-Men, would you? Oh wait. Ok you wouldn't say Dr Doom is one of the FF would you? Oh umm never mind.
