How do you guys store treasury sized books? I picked up a couple today and am at a loss how to store them.

Hi Scott; I have a couple of them (Treasury sized) and they are bagged and boarded. Its just like any other comic only on a bigger scale.

Also as they are bigger, some are laying flat in plastic containers and others are placed on their side in a magazine box.

Bigger drawers or cabinets. Mine are stored in an unused fridge.

I have four. I store a few short boxes under a table, so I just put the treasury editions on top of those boxes so they are safe, but also out of the way.

For the same money reasons, as well as a concern for time, I never rebag old comics unless/until I notice something wrong. I think conventional bags and boards are supposed to be replaced every four years, and that just doesn't happen when you have a 7,000+ collection (and I think most of you have larger collections than I do!).

Now that I finally have a scanner, I would also like to scan all of my comics and store each one as a pdf file on backup discs. I don't like to read my comics on a computer screen, but it would be great to have backups in case something disastrous happened to my collection.
Ambitious! I don't think I'd ever find the time or patience.

    Get comic drawers!

On a related note, a dear old friend is downsizing his possessions because he is moving into a retirement facility next year and he's realized, sadly, he cannot take everything with him. He goes into hospital next week for a vital but risky operation. According to a family member he rang last night while I was asleep so I hope it hasn't been postponed again.
    Sorry to hear this.

    Not recommended by most collectors.

I have to confess that i don't "treasure " my Treasury Editions. They just lie around anywhere mostly in roughed up shape. My Superman Vs. Ali has more holes than Sonny had in the Godfather.

Its not really getting old, but rather that most people tend to get less and less exercise as they get older and this lack of exercise is what really causes it. I am 34 years old, and I spent all of my childhood and most of my 20s being severely overweight. I finally decided to lose the weight in my late 20s, and now I am in the best shape of my life. I feel better now than I did even as a teenager.

This is my mindset also because of space and money constraints. Quality is definitely the way to go if a large comic collection simply isn't doable. But if ever I can afford a bigger place and have more disposable income becoming a completist with thousands of issues brings pleasure of its own kind.

Shaxper, do you insure your collection?
