Default Ninja Warrior is Finding an Audience

I know it is a summer show and a filler at that. However it seems to be doing well. The fact that its audience seems to be expanding is a good sign that this is only the beginning.

For some reason I can't get into American Ninja Warrior it just doesn't appeal to me like I feel if someone won American Ninja Warrior I still wouldn't call them a Ninja Warrior unless they won the japanese course.

I can't stand how half of the guys rip their shirts off when they make it to the finish as a celebration. Um, if you wanted your shirt off, no one was forcing you to wear it for the entire thing.

And in the end , none of them makes it.

Needs incredible upper body strength to do those obstacles.

Well, that's in keeping with the Japanese version, then...

I was always a little irritated at the seasons where nobody succeeded, but I guess it made the three or four times that someone DID make it that much more significant. If someone succeeded every season, it would be less impressive.

I really enjoy the Japanese eps (male and female), and even the localized ones. Haven't seen the new American version though.

It was pretty much the same, only in America with most of the same, if not all of the same obstacles. Crazy brutal. I'm not surprised that so very few can finish it.

Few other subtle differences. Crowd's a lot louder, for one.

But the course appears to be exactly the same, and I suppose that's what counts. Be nice if they brought over some of the All-Stars like Yuuji Urushihara (the shoe salesman who's the only man to win twice) but maybe they don't want Asians showing up the Americans in the first season...

    -EDIT-

I'm actually confused a little... are they going to have a Sasuke 28 in Japan? Or has the show completely switched shores?

America need to get better competitors , pretty weak compared to the japan competitors.

Out of 100 competitors in the finals

    1st stage - 76 failed , only 24 passed through

    2nd stage - 23 failed , only 1 passed through

    3rd stage - 1 failed

I believe Sasuke 28 will be showing in japan. They are holding sasuke trials in singapore now and the finalists will be going to japan.

That actually is pretty close to one of Japan's best performances in Sasuke. The first stage is supposed to eliminate all but the strongest and fastest. Usually, only 8-12 competitors make it to the second stage. Whenever more than that made it in previous tournaments, the course designers completely re-design the first stage to make it much harder. The fact that 24 Americans passed means that the first stage is not so hard or the Americans were pretty prepared. Either way, don't expect to see 24 competitors make it next year.

    2nd stage - 23 failed , only 1 passed through
It's not at all unusual for the second stage to eliminate all but one or two competitors in Japan. Makoto Nagano has been eliminated quite a lot in the second stage (metal spin is a particular nemesis that eliminated him 3 tournaments in a row). The slightest mistake in any of the stages is almost always instant elimination.

    3rd stage - 1 failed
Passing the third stage is even rarer than passing the second stage. I can only think of one year where 4 competitors actually made it to the fourth stage. If any make it, it's usually only one or two competitors. However, most tournaments end in no one making it to the fourth stage.

I was going to say, 24 players making it to Stage 2 is actually pretty crazy, I can't think of any Sasuke where that many competitors made it through.

Even the dude who made it through Stage 2 only got through with 3/100ths of a second to spare. And did I miss it, or was the Spider Hang missing from Stage 1? That's some nonsense right there.
