Blog: Yes, I Am STILL a Nerd!

Not entirely. Somewhere in the middle would have been fine with me. I thought it'd be an interesting journey as the Lizard learns to better understand its and humanity at large. Like in Origin of the Species, when it was fumbling with the chemistry set. Sure, he could have gone either way, good or bad in the end, but there'd be that gray area until then.

In issue #10 the Lizard was release by Emma Frost, who then proceeded to make Dark Beast his bitch, but then Spidey intervenes by punching the Lizard in the face. The Lizard fights back against Spidey and eventually traps Spidey with his tail squeezing him to death. The Lizard stops short of this and tells Spidey that he is lucky his “friend” (Emma) freed him, so he lets him go and makes a deal, stating, “I will return to the dank and dark. Stay in your world of warm and sunshine. I will stay in mine.”
Yeah, well, that kinda explains why the Lizard was rather nonchalant in his dealings.
But, really, he must be losing it to think that no one would notice. As of right now, we have Mr. Sinister, what's left of the Morlocks, as well as the ever unlucky Legion of Monsters, just to name a few of Marvel's sewer dwellers. Someone was going to catch him sooner or later. He's just lucky it was Morbius instead of someone with common sense. But I've been wondering, has he been regularly moving around as of late, or has Morbius somehow got him contained to a small section of the sewers away from where he, the leader of the Legion at this point, can keep the others from finding him?

Just realized I wasn’t clear on if the Lizard was being mind-controlled, he wasn’t, he was only being held captive and strapped to a machine to use his powers against his will by Dark Beast.
Anyway I don’t see the Lizard caring if anyone else noticed what he was doing. The only person he would really care about is Spidey considering their history.
But I’m such a nice person…
It's not that he would care if someone found him, but he would care if that person could interfere with what he was doing. More importantly, lizards are usually pretty solitary, so I would assume that he would seek out someplace where no one would find him. He may go out "hunting", but I think he would try to stay undercover.
Looks good. I'm hopping on with this issue and I'm really looking forward to it.
Heh, "HYPOON". :) Is Peter neglecting the last X-men team up vs Liz and D Beast? That happened after the encounter he cites, didn't it? I thought overall a DECENT issue. If this arc gets rid of Morbius who is horribly weighted down with his horrible Monster City presence then all the better. Also horrible was the cover but in a effectively gruesome way - that image would never have gotten the green light in the CCA days or shortly there after. I wonder if that is progress or not though...
