Too bad Sam doesn't have an MD, or they could have him be blinded in the train crash and become the new Dr. Mid-Nite. (Confidentially, I am kinda-sorta expecting whoever the EarthTooNew Dr Mid-Nite is to turn up gay and become Alan's lover. It just follows along too well from all the old fanwank.)

Sam as the new Doc Mid-nite would be fun! And I couldn't rule out the possibility of him being another gay man if Sam is either killed off or missing for a while.

I'm also wondering if the new Doc Mid-nite might be a woman

Jade - Earth 2 writer James Robinson said in the 6/8/12 Comic Vine podcast that he confirmed with Didio last fall that Jade and her twin bro Obie would both be put into Limbo due to their father being deaged back to his younger adulthood and the start of his superhero career

He said he was inspired to make Alan gay because of Todd's absence creating a gap for a positive gay hero and he wanted to write another gay hero to take Todd's place.

He said he has an idea to revive Jade and Obie but it will be a while before he does so. He said he also liked a comic fan's idea of making the twins Alan's niece and nephew instead of his children.

So there is a possibility that Jade and Obie might return but I can't rule out any change possibilities i.e. they might not be Jennie-Lynn Hayden and Todd Rice as they were pre-relaunch.

They might have new names, they might not be Alan's children or even related to him or who knows

I've seen a bit of 'net discussion that post-relaunch Alan's partner Sam could potentially be a new Obie (I guess if he's not fridged in the next E2 issue) and if that happens, perhaps the nuJade could be a friend or relative of Sam's.

I wouldn't put it past James to give Sam a twin sis just to make the new Jade and Obie a set of twins like the pre-relaunch ones were

I don't think he's answer is particularly aggressive. But the question you are asking isn't something anyone on the boards can really answer. And questions of it's type have been asked very very often already..

I would find it totally strange myself and I've seen a number of wacky things in comics over the years

But like others have posted, it's the DCnU, they can do whatever the heck they want

I don't think he's answer is particularly aggressive. But the question you are asking isn't something anyone on the boards can really answer. And questions of it's type have been asked very very often already..

Does anyone have a count as to how many "Where's Wally?" or "Where's Donna?" type of threads we've had in the past few months?

It seems like there's a new one at least once a week or so.
