SoI just watched, listened rather, to LExrules thread "George Perez Discusses Superman, Why he left and Everything Superman related"...and I have three words...

Yep.
I'm uncomfortable with trying to make anyone lose their job in this economy...but his day has long passed. He tried, he failed.
I think we need to get a movement going. This is something that I think a LOT of us, no matter what we feel about the reboot, can agree on. Superman needs a new editorial hand running the show. One that doesn't rewrite entire storyarcs without input of the original author just to suit his own tastes.
If I remember correctly, Idelson has a history of doing this. Mark Waid left Captain America back at Marvel years ago largely because large chunks of an issue was rewritten by editorial without his input. Idelson was editor of Captain America then. Sound familiar?
I'd sign an online petition.
I'd write a letter to dc, just tell me where to send it.
Grandparents dead - please no jokes
make mine DC, thanks
You know, I've been thinking Idelson needs to go ever since the New Krypton debacle, but I don't think online chanting will do anything.
True. Sadly, as long as sales are good, even if he is toxic to any creative growth of the franchise beyond ACTION COMICS (which is likely outside of Idelson's control, because he IS Grant Morrison.) as long as sales remain strong, he isn't going anywhere.
Once Morrison leaves (whenever that is, of course.), I see the franchise falling back into stagnation. If Idelson is still there, and sales take a tumble, and he isn't smart enough to put someone else at the creative helm to pick up from Grant and get out of the way, then I'd say then he might go. But that could be years off.
Still, it wouldn't hurt for us fans to sign a petition to voice our concerns. The worse they could do is ignore us, and we just get a few more years of a ghost-written mediocre SUPERMAN book. Thank god for ACTION, SMALLVILLE, SUPERMAN BEYOND, and even SUPERMAN FAMILY ADVENTURES all of which thankfully are out of Idelson's influence.

I suppose the best hope right now is that Lobdell's good track record for DC so far with the New 52 maybe gives him a little more pull that Perez/Jurgens didn't have and his work won't be so willfully and dramatically altered. Don't know how realistic that is but its a hope.
Someone needs to do what that Harley Quinn b*tch did last year at Comic-Con but with this guy.
