    Default First "Dredd" Trailer Debuts

The first full-length trailer for Lionsgate's "Dredd" has debuted demonstrating Karl Urban's ability to deliver 2000 AD's iconic Judge's one-liners with a suitably gravelly voice and a steely edge.

I really think this movie looks like a lot of fun. Karl Urban has been great in everything I've seen him in, from Lord of the Rings to Star Trek to Red. The trailer really shows a wonderful mood to the whole movie, which the first movie totally lacked. Still, as I read the synopsis, and saw the trailer, I couldn't help but think of a movie I just saw called Raid: the Redemption. It was a great movie, and, if Dredd must borrow from another source, this is a perfect set up for a Judge Dredd story. I know this may sound like I'm dissing this movie, but seeing how it has a clear vision of what it wants to me (as did Raid), it actually gives me hope for this movie.

I never saw the movie "Raid: Redemption" but from what I've heard, this trailer also made me think of that movie.

It looks ok, but nothing really stands out here aside from the fact that it's Dredd. My biggest reservation about the movie, based solely on this trailer, is how straight they're playing it. "Judge Dredd" works best when it has that dark satirical edge and it's not present here. Perhaps in the next trailer...

It felt more like a preview for a new TV show than a feature film IMO, but still looking forward to it.

The trailer didn't blow me away, but I'm rooting for this to be a fun film.
I always imagined Dredd to have a more growly, gravelly voice. Urban is doing a hoarse whisper.

Its worth noting that the Dredd screenplay was written well before 'The Raids' and any similarity is therefore coincidental or in fact the other way around. Alas due to the large amount of CGI Dredd has just taken a lot longer to get out.

Interesting trailer. Not what I'm looking for, but has me intrigued.

Slightly too much use of slow motion though

Dude, that is because of the drug they are going up against. The drug slows down time for the user. So the use of SloMo is justified.

Video's gone. Lionsgate had it removed from Youtube.

Looks like there's a mirror at DailyMotion. No idea how long it'll be up.
