    Default Batman Beyond Unlimited #5

    So anyone else reading this?

I actually thought this was the best bit of writing Beechen has done with Batman Beyond so far. I love the new character's back story and how he was added to Terry's history w/o pulling a big retcons. The connection to Joe Chill was particularly nice and unexpected. I've beenw antin to see other current day vigilantes in Gotham so the ending particularly pleased me. I can't wait to see him in action.

I'm reading this as a digital weekly. I'm not sure where the reprint is in the story, but I'm loving this weekly dose of DC Beyond.
    Recommended Comics:
    Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye

I enjoyed it myself for the connection to past Batman history and a glimpse of another possible hero in Neo-Gotham. Can't wait to see where this might go. I'm also enjoying the rest of the DC Beyond universe. This book is one that I really look forward to each month.

I'm reading it digitally as well and I have to say that after the Mad Stan story I'm glad this feels like its really going somewhere. Don't get me wrong, the bit with Mad Stan was fun, but the J.Chill chapters felt like they were really advancing the mythos of Batman Beyond and I'm excited to see how he plays into Night of 1000 Clowns. We've been teased by this story for nearly a year now, so my expectations are pretty high. i hope it pays off.

Glad to see I'm not the only one reading.

I wasn't a big fan of the Mad Stan story though it had its moments. Is J. Chill actually playing a part in Night of 1000 Clowns?

Yeah, gotta give some credit to Adam Beechen here. Great story overall.

Are you reading the digital chapters or jut the print version? I'm not sure what was included in the print addition so I don't want to spoil anything more than I may already have.

I don't know about that, I've found them to be pretty satisfying reads so far despite the difference in page count.

I'm reading the print myself but I already figured that J. Chill was going to figure into future stories anyway and that he might have a place in the next arc so you didn't spoil anything at all for me at any rate. I'm interested in seeing how he fits into it the Night of 1000 clowns myself. Looking forward to it.

Did they include the second part in the print copy, or did you only get the first part?

I'm not really sure where the print copy is in terms of the digital releases.

I dunno': The story in last issue ended with J. Chill looking at his suit planning to modify it.
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...

Here's a little heads up to make it understandable...

Each issue of Batman Beyond Unlimited rotates who gets the 20 page story while the other two titles get 10 pages, to equal 40 pages each month. Also keep in mind that the Beyond:Origins (while a different title name) are related to JLB, and will be sporadically inserted. That is why one month, it seemed like there were 4 titles in the issue, even though "Origins" counts as one of the 10 pages for JLB. It just happened to fall on that month for that issue where JLB was given 20 pages to have 4 titles present that issue (this won't happen often).

The print copy is always released near the end of the month, collecting all digital releases previous to it for that month.

In this instance, since the issue featured a 20 page Batman Beyond story, both of Beechen's parts to his story were online first and both were reprinted into the current issue.

Hope that brings everyone up to speed.

Ah, thanks for that! I only ever bought the first issue in print before switching over completely to digital on Beyond so I wasn't sure what was collected when.

I have a quick question, we do a weekly summary of the titles coming out each week with links to the solicitations on the DC site but I've yet to find a place either on comixology or the official DC site that lists solicitations for each individual chapter so I was wondering if you knew if such a listing existed or if there were plans in the future to solicit the individual digital chapters.

cant this possibly be more unoriginal
    more lazy?

    just Why?

the story would had been average if Jake was just a random guy, but no, his last name is chill
i think this was suppose to come out as some cleaver reveal at the end but i just couldnt help but facepalm at it

    Its just so lazy

Sorry, no idea. I think Comixology has a blog where they list each weeks releases. But you'll probably just have to check around the Comixology site for any specific links to individual chapters only after they become available on their day of release. I don't think they put them up ahead of time. Only when they're for sale.
