I really enjoyed this issue, it harks back to a rather silly Doom story from Miller's Fantastic Four run, but is likely going to plug a gap in regards how Doom managed to over come the odds and get back to his time, without all that babble about hate keeping him alive for millennia, and killing a Watcher. Hitching a ride with the Thunderbolts and then trying to cover it up is much more likely!

I believe that was the term used for this team of Thunderbolts when they weren't lost in time, as they were the secondary team. I can't remember if it was just the fans that called them that or if it was used in the comic as well.

It was used in the comics...I think Moonstone called them that when she first learned of the B team.

Yeah, I am surprised that someone is addressing the ridiculous Master of Doom arc from the end of the Millar run (the final issues was acutally scripted by his friend Joe Ahearne I believe) The part about killing a Watcher wasn't made up though. Reed had the corpse for a while at the Baxter Building. Whether or not a temporarily powered up Doom did the deed seemed pretty certain, at least the writer strongly implied that he did since this Watcher witnessed this Doom's activities through the timestream.

It does look like Walker may be skipping over the part about Doom having another secret identity as the Marquis of Death's apprentice known as the Coachmen who accompanied him across the multiverse.

Well, maybe something will happen that will see the Thunderbolts kill a Watcher and Doom stealing credit. Either way, random story, but it was a thousand times better than the drival with the 'new' Dark Avengers from two weeks back

Who on the Thunderbolts has that kind of power though? Even though they are basically pacifists Watchers are IIRC below Celestials but on par with Galactus in the pantheon of Cosmics.

Man-Thing? He seems to be something new now.

Up to now, he wouldn't be in Watcher / Galactus class but who knows? Writers these days do a lot of reinventing.

Depends on the Watcher....there was Aaron the Rogue Watcher back in the FF. Red Hulk was able to beat up on Uatu so they can be injured by mortals.
It was never made clear how the Apprentice/Doom killed the one Reed had.

Issue was pretty good, however I was looking for to seeing Luke Cage and the Dark Avengers... And they didn't even mention any of them in this issue..

Then you haven't read the interviews with Parker where he states that they will be alternating issues. But now you know.

I have read some of the interviews, but I thought they would go back and forth in each issue, not dedicate an entire issue to on particular team...

The easy solution? Skip the issues with the Time-travel team. Nothing of value would be lost anyway.

Nothing of value? I think the time travel stuff is much better than the current time stuff.
