After reading this issue of Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers, I had to go back and re-read the Mark Milllar run Fantastic Four, just to refresh my memory about how Dr Doom ended up being shark-bait.
We know that somehow, Dr Doom ends up in the far future, alters himself in such a way, so as to be unrecognisable to the Marquis of Death, and positions himself as the apprentice, so as to be in a position to get his revenge.
I am guessing Satana plays a part in helping Doom disguise himself, but I just wonder which far-flung alternate future the Thunderbolts will find themselves. The Badoon conqurered Earth of the 30th Century with the Guardians of the Galaxy seems to be an obvious choice, but I have a feeling that Jeff Parker may go for something else.
So what other alternate futures could our Time-Bolts find themselves in? The orginal 2099? Days of Future Past? Future Imperfect? Original Deathlok? Killraven and the War of the Worlds? Spider-Girl future?
as always, Kev Walker is astounding, and it amazes me that he hasn't been spirited away to some A-list book or event.
I love Kev Walker's art: there's both a cartoony and realistic look to his work. The sharks were amazing and I love his design for Merlin, but his Timebolts are playful and fit the book perfectly. Would love to see him get more work at Marvel. It tickles this crusty Games Workshop fan to see one of her favorite artists from their 80s stable do good in another genre of art :)
