I think it is great. Easily my favourite Wildstorm intergration.

I thought that Cornell's initial arc was pretty dull. It had good ideas but most of them were poorly executed and don't make start with the main characters, for a group that call themselves "The Professionals" they acted like useless amateurs who were even fighting over leadership and worst of all, none of them were likable.
Jenkins' arc was much better, it had good character moments with pretty nice concepts.
Milligan's run is the best so far. He success on the points where Cornell failed, he actually made these characters interesting, competent and likable, great work overall.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.
I thought that Cornell's run didn't really gel for me until his final two issues. Jenkins made the book more readable and so far Milligan has done well. While I'd like to see the concept expanded upon a bit more(it's the Midnighter and Apollo show!) what's come so far has been midway decent. Not anywhere as good as the second to worst run on Authority, but I'll take what I can get, I guess.
One of the the three new DCNU series I gave a try. Partly on basis that I've been tempted to seek out back issues of Stormwatch and the Authority, so might be a good idea to have a look at characters, and partly because I liked Paul Cornell's work on Captain Britain and MI 13. So far read up to issue 8.
I will keep reading (for a while at least), but must admit so far been just a bit disappointed. Characters have been either near ciphers, or just unpleasant.
And the basic premises/ story telling has been pretty unconvincing. I mean this "back ground team that works against major threats without anybody realising" takes some swallowing when the threats are having a massive impact on Moon, and large tracts of Earth itself. (For me one character controlling all media doesn't work... ordinary people would still notice things, and likes of Superman with his extra-ordinary senses, and Batman with his hyper practical intelligence, would soon know what was happening.)
And three writers so far? That tells its own "story". I've stayed with series so far, because I have enjoyed previous work I've read from all three.... but basically if writer changes again, I'll very likely drop the series.
I thought this was really just bland as hell. It had a lot of potential and I really like the idea of a secret team that the JL can smack down eventually, but man what poor execution. Hopefully Milligan gets the balls bouncing again.
I have to agree here, its not that I don't find this new take on these characters enjoyable despite editorial switching writers too often, but the mission statement and personalities worked better back then.
I mean, I enjoyed Cornell's initial arc quite a bit even tho the rehashes from the Wildstorm days were a bit much and the changes in characterization felt somewhat off base; and now I'm curious to see where Milligan will take things, I suspected that Harry Tanner would take longer to return but there he is already. The encounter with the Red Lanterns was pretty good so I'll be pulling it for a while longer at least.
Bottomline its not a great book like The Authority that was in the first and third volumes at Wildstorm; but its still a pretty good scifi oriented "non-superhero" comic.
This is very true, this is by far the best treatment that DC has given to anything originally Wildstorm.

Yeesh....
I started reading this title for two reasons: 1.) I'm a J'onn J'onzz fanboy and 2.) I liked Cornell's other work. Well, a year later we're on our third writer and JJ's had, like, five minutes of screen time. I got more satisfaction out of his cameo in one issue of Justice League than in a year of Stormwatch. As someone said, it's the Apollo and Midnighter show now. And here's the thing: at no point in the Authority series was it ever "the Apollo and Midnighter show". I argue that this made things better. It wasn't until I saw the splash page in JL of J'onn simultaneously whipping the crap out of the entire league that I remembered that the concept behind Stormwatch was that they were supposed to be unstoppable badasses that have forgotten more about saving the world than anyone else will ever know. It's gotten lost in a lot of noise, especially since Milligan took over and really started shifting focus to A&M (and he still hasn't successfully addressed the same issue that's stymied every other Authority writer- giving Apollo a recognizable personality).
I'm glad for A&M and their status at out and proud gay heroes. Mazel tov. If you want that to be the point of a whole book, though, then you need to spin them off. With the right writer, I'd read it. But some of us were reading this title for reasons other than tracking someone's love life. Some of us wanted a superhero team comic. Maybe that makes me old-fashioned or something, I dunno.
Spoiler alert: CSN blurbed issue #12 as being J'onn's last. the only question for me at this point is: do I even bother picking up 11 and 12?

I've enjoyed the series alot. The first issue was one of my favorite books of the new 52.
I Liked every issue except for the 2 arc run by Jenkins. Jenkins' run had the characters talking too much star trek-like techno-babble that you'd begin to wonder if the characters even know what they are talking about.
Milligan is currently doing a great job on this title. The 2 most recent issues are the best so far.
Honestly? It's a pale imitation of The Authority. My buddy let me borrow #1-6, and I couldn't make it past #2.
It's alright; nothing amazing though. I think it is subpar because it is too complicated.
I like it. At least enough to keep pulling it every month. However, I vastly preferred The Authority to this version of the characters. Jack and Engineer feel especially watered down from their previous versions. I'm also not too wild about Apollo and Midnighter having known names all of a sudden, and being called by them, while Engineer, who was almost always called Angie, is never called by her name.
It is small things like that that have pulled me out of this series, just not enough to drop it. I do feel like the book is getting stronger with each issue. Hopefully everything comes together once the team melds into their new role in the DCU.
Writers: Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis, Jeff Lemire
Artists: John Cassaday, Frank Quitely, Mike Mignola
I've been enjoying the series so far, it’s had little hiccups here and there, but I'm enjoying focus on Apollo and Midnighter, but I’d like to see more of that with the other characters too.
Jumped in on #9, been heavily enjoying it.
Also pick up Red Lanterns #10. It's the continuation of #9 of Stormwatch. I pretty much count that RL issue as another issue of Stormwatch, so that's really 3 solid Milligan written SW issues.
