I'm gonna go ahead and say Cap beats Cass...

and while we're at it, he also beats Spider-Man, World War Hulk, The Void, Thanos, Superman and Pre-Crisis Darkseid...

The Avengers: It is less of a movie and more of a Religious Experience.

So you are taking away his strength, durability, spider sense, webbing and putting him in a cage? Why bother using spider man at all then? It's like having rumble between Cass and Superman...but Superman has all his powers but Super hearing removed.

Really? No one took the sad bait so you decided to do so as an attempt at making funny? That's moronic.

Yeah it stops actually being Spider-man in this rumble.

Agreed. That we have to nerf Peter this much to make this a fight says something.

I figure Cass takes this one. She has to work, because Pete is faster and isn't a complete chooch when it comes to fighting. But speed is close (Pete doesn't normally outright blitz Cass) and she's not only vastly more skilled than Peter, but has combat precog. And as has been shown in the comics, when you take away Peter's combat precog, it hurts his fighting.

Not that it's a legit win over Pete, who normally destroys her.

I thought Pete got training to compensate when he loses his spidey-sense

True. He has that training he did with Shang Chi.

That makes it harder, though I'm iffy that a couple of months training with Shang will net him a win here.

Even by the grace of the comic book training montage three weeks of training with Shang Chi is only going to close the gap so much with someone bred to be a living weapon to the point violence became her primary form of speech. I'd also imagine even with bloodlust on Pete doesn't have expirence delivering lethal/cripling strikes, so he's going to lack the skill even if he has the sudden desire to.

I figure Cap was brought up because maybe there have been a lot of Cass vs Cap fights in the past? Or maybe there was a lot of Cap vs Spiderman threads? Not sure.

I thought it was a joke on how nerfed Spidey was. That he wasn't even Spider-Man any more, but instead more on par with Cap, or something?

I figured he was just baiting me and Syrile, we're among the biggest Cap advocates on this board.

Something I'm curious about, when you take a character like Spider-Man or the Thing who have literally thousands of battles under their belt why is that automatically trumped by martial arts training? It's like normal fighting experience is viewed as automatically useless against martial arts training. Spider-Man has a lot more experience in battle than Cass. His fighting skills are based around working with his power set.

I'm just wondering, doesn't that count for anything? If Spider-Man got his powers at 14 or 15 and is now say...29 or so that means he has 15 years of hardcore battle experience against every sort of enemy under the sun.

Why doesn't that trump the martial arts training of a young person with much less experience?

Spider-man might of been in more battles, but from what I understand Cass was some type of prodigy from a very young age(I could be wrong).
