Rasputin9977, thank you. It's a wonder anyone answered. An obvious one, but I assumed it were otherwise or why would needler420 already hate it enough to start a thread. I can't think of coms I hate...lots of other things, though, like Roy Thomas, and I mean to ask zilch and supamike why I should have fondness pre-1976. The cover is okay aside from the jumbo UPC of course and... she makes a good GS, but her bangs are a little too long, and his hair shouldn't be curly and that light. I trust this is a publicity photo and not a still. If it's a still, the movie is junk. I don't have to explain that, do I? And if the movie is set in present day, screw it.

Why the f*** has the OP started a thread bitching about 2 brand new comic books in the Classic Comics forum? What…there weren't enough other forums on these boards filled with people moaning about modern comics?!

Also, the opening sentence (I want to know what comics out that people bought and hate them) is utter gibberish.

Two that were bad enough for me to rip them up and throw them away, Caligula...Just sick and twisted beyond belief and the most recent season of Buffy, where Buffy is apparantly date raped after discovering she is pregnant, but is such a black out drunk that she can't even narrow down who the father might be since she blacks out alot, and then asks one of the potential date rapists to help her get an abortion...before finding out she is actually a robot...Where the douchebag in question quips "I know my way around a Buffy-bot."

Now when I see them on the stand I say no effing way.

Mark Millars " Nemesis" was very vile. I dumped it after the first issue.

I hate what has become of the Marvel Universe with the Bendis' Avengers, Event Driven, Mega-Crossover, Never Ending stories.

    Classic comics? The Killing Joke.

    Newer comics? Bendisvengers.

I read the latter as it came out (except for the last couple of issues, which I picked up a few months later for cheap). It was perfectly OK, though the fact that lots of modern-day fans were going on about it as if it were the greatest thing since Shakespeare tells me that they'd never read a decent Silver Age issue (&/or, of course, had undergone full transfusions of Morrison Kool-Aid in place of blood), which IMHO is rather sad.
I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."
Basically, if you miss the wonder of a dog flying around in a little Superman cape, you're in the wrong hobby.

I'd recommend checking out The Other Side. Great Vietnam war comic, and Stewart's art is phenomenal.

He takes every opportunity to say that he smokes a looot of weed. Look there for your explanations.

I think hate is a bit too strong of an emotion even for a badly written or drawn comic, but there are some comics that contain moral or thematic elements that create a strong negative reaction in me. You guys familiar with the work of the late Barry Blair? A lot of his comics feature elves that look disturbingly like children and a strong erotic element. It's not a mix I'm comfortable with. This link goes to a relatively mild example:

Through the 80s, you can see a gradual shift from his father's style to his more modern drawing. I think his art is good for stills but bad for action.

Venom's Separation Anxiety and Carnage Unleashed were stories that promised alot and delivered very little. It was crap like this which gave symbiote a bad name for a long time in the MU.

That's probably the case. I have a love/hate relationship with his stuff, I certainly don't think he is the second coming or anything. But when the man is on point he can write some fun comics.
