I'm sorry but that doesn't at all explain Thor's sudden change in character/behaviour. And it doesn't explain what he learnt by sacrificing himself.

As I said, Loki says in New Ultimates that Thor was very much a warrior God in Asgard and that his anger was blocked by Odin when he was sent here, hence the hippie-stuff in Ultimates 1 and 2. Loki even mentions that's why he came across as a hippie. He say that exact thing. And when he returns, his rage has returned with him.

And that's the last time I'm typing any of this. It's kind of dumb, but it was explained. And now, he's sorta in between the two versions. Loeb's run is over and a lot f it has been retconned and explained away, so who even cares anymore?

One of my major problems with all that, though, is that it took so damn long to explain it. Granted, I still think there are holes in the explanation, and it's lazy to boot. But New Ultimates #4 came out almost three years after Ultimates 3 #1. For such a big character change, that's unacceptable. It comes across very much like an afterthought. Even without the delays, that was Loeb's 14th issue of Ultimates. There's no reason that it should have been unexplained for so long.

And, like I mentioned, it still doesn't make much sense. Becoming more of a warrior shouldn't have caused him to abandon those who cared about him.
I like Ultimate Comics. - Read them with us!

I also buy: Captain America, Avengers, FF, New Avengers, X-Factor, among others
