Wasn't it someone named Jade, also known as Firebird or something like that? She may also have been a friend of roommate's of Jean Gray and Misty Knight. On that level, at least, there's a long history attaching Iron Fist to the X-Men. (Mostly because Claremont and Byrne worked on both!)
