Not explictly, which is what you're getting at, but in one of the panels in Mysterio's hideout in the 616 there's a clothes rack which has Ultimate Mysterio's outfit on it, while Beck himself is wearing the classic outfit.

Apparently Bendis has also said on Twitter somewhere that 616 and Ultimate Mysterio are the same guy, but I couldn't find the actual quote.

I'm glad Axel took some time to talk about sales for his column this week. I've noticed that when most Marvel editors are asked about sales, they tend to dance around the question. When someone brings up the poor sales of certain books or events, they tend to brush it off. It seems Axel and the rest of the guys at Marvel understand that sales boosts from events are short term, but can have long term ramifications as DC's New 52 has shown. Then there's the anomaly that is the Walking Dead. That's one of those rare properties where the TV show actually does inspire sales, which hasn't really been the case with Marvel and their movies. I can't help but wonder if Marvel, DC, and every comic company for that matter is taking a look at series like the Walking Dead and seeing how they could incorporate it into their model. Maybe in the coming years, we'll see a change. For now, the event model with AvX seems to be working fine at least for the moment.

I'm really interested about the future of the Mutants' status, being a fan of Chris Claremont' work..
Dunno if the "No more Avengers" teaser means that all the MU' super-heroes, from Peter Parker to Bruce Banner and Matt Murdock -and so on, are all mutants from the start (they just needed some catalysers for their powers to manifest) OR that there won't be any Avengers or any super-teams left because they will all be kick-assed by the Phoenix Five..Then they'll have to create a Resistance force because the mutants will rule the world and...

Did I say I was an admirer of Chris Claremont' work ?

That would depend on if Walking Dead's huge increase in sales was due to new, non-comic book readers or to the Big Two readers buying an independent -- and I've no idea how they would track that. If it IS due to new to comics readers, then perhaps, but otherwise, I don't think there's much there to incorporate in superheroes book, except put out a quality book.

Probably the mutant gene will be restored. I still like the idea that everyone will become a mutant, or at least a latent carrier of the mutant gene, and take that chip off the X-Men's shoulder.
I'd rather that mutants will be born because of another gene and not the x-gene.

I am interested in the part concerning greenlit projects that would not have happened pre AvX. I am hoping for some expanded genre diversity at Marvel! Not to mention character diversity.

It's more logical to assume that he was pretending to be the 616 Mysterio. He obviously had been into 616 previously (or was at least there for a little while by this point).

He is legitimately shocked to see Peter's Spider-Man, screaming, "No!! Not you!!" That doesn't match up with the current 616 Mysterio's attitude at all.

So if they ARE the same, there needs to be some logic behind it, as it just doesn't make much sense.

Yeah, I doubt that. And if he did, it was sarcasm. He wouldn't make such a huge reveal like that on Twitter. :P

They're not bringing her back. She's dead. The movie has nothing to do with it. She was already in the most successful Spider-Man movie and this one is very unlikely to match it.

There are already people born with innate powers who lack an X-gene: the Annex invaders, Quake, Yo-Yo/Slingshot, Stonewall, Hazmat, Mettle, Veil, Striker, Vargas, maybe Nuklo (itīs unclear if he is a mutant, but he seems to lack and X-gene, since his power comes from irradion while in the womb), Lyra, Thundra, Skaar, Genis-Vell (now dead), Cadille, Minette...etc. All the mutants need to do is to change a bit their definition of "homo superior" and accept that people without an X-gene have a part in evolution too, but I canīt see that happening, since it would weaken the difference between mutant and non-mutant heroes.

I think itīs a bit silly the way mutants seem to worship the X-gene.

Okay, I'll take a peak at that Space Punisher. Tex's art hasn't looked this good in a very long time. And this sounds like ridiculous fun esp. if Tieri can tap into some of that insanity that made his run on Wolverine such a hoot (until Origin ruined everything anyway.)

Precisely, they're painting the divide between "flatscans" and mutants too severely.

So it was Storm indeed. : ) I just wanted to confirm cos somebody was saying it was Cable and not Storm. I'm glad Alonso clarified it. : )

Yeah I would have too although I guess he's saving up all the other juicy stuff for the SDCC.

Would love to hear an extensive Q & A session too.

You're not buying it because it isn't the answer you want. Alonso, Brevoort and Slott have all said that Gwen Stacy is dead.

The movies don't provide the kind of changes to the comics that they had at one point. Jane Foster wasn't rushed back to Thor's love interest when the Thor film came out. Betty Ross wasn't brought back to life to tie into the Hulk films. Loki remains a mischievous child despite being an evil villain in one of the biggest movies of all time. The only thing the Spider-Man comics are doing to acknowledge the new movie is a big Lizard story. (That's still a bigger tie-in than many comics have had when a movie was coming out.)

The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.
