Legion:
David Haller, the son of Charles Xavier, and more importantly Gabrielle Haller, picked up his mother's habit of being a bit on the "nervous" side. Being already susceptible to familial craziness, after being the sole survivor of a terrorist attack, his mutant powers manifested and absorbed the mind of the leader of said attack, Jemail Karami. Because he was so sensitive, and his mother not knowing what to do with him, and not wanting to turn to deadbeat father of the year, she turned to one of his next conquests, Moira MacTaggert. Placing him under her care, he remained catatonic for quite some time (more than 20 issues of the New Mutants, if I recall correctly). A few years pass, and Charles and the X-Babies are brought into his conscious and they attempt to work through his problems. By the end saga, he had several separate personalities, one with a different superpower. After creating a stopgag for a minute, David's put on the back burner for a few years.
A few years later he joins up with the Muir Island rejects, and ends up killing Destiny, the love of Mystique's life, and apparently dies/slips into another coma after being possessed by the Shadow King, and wreaking all types of havoc on the world. A few years later comes his most important role as he slips back in time trying to make his daddy proud of him by getting rid of Wanda's parents, and creates the Age of Apocalypse, which actually erased him because Charles and Gabby didn't have a chance to play hide the schmeckle.
A couple years later, he comes back in the pages the book that made him famous, the New Mutants, and we find out that all of his personalities are people that have almost died around him, and for each personality he creates a new mutant power to go along with said superpower. And he also has a doll in his brain that gives the personality dominance.
While being held on Utopia, he creates MoiraLegion, who hopes to protect him from the death of his other personalities, and helps him create the Age of X, where he gets to be the best of the best. Unfortunately, he was talked out of this world by that bitch, Rogue, and restored things to normal.

LOVE Legion, glad he made the top five. The stuff Carey did with him in Legacy was some of my favorite. I can't wait to see the crazy parties him and Charles have been attending in Ibiza.

I can't wait to see the twist after it's revealed, and see how people react to the finale.
