Actually, it's interesting because Claremont explicity described the experience of being a Phoenix Host kind as different to that of the High Evolutionary. When someone ascends to Godhood in Marvel they lose touch with their humanity, but what seems to be the case is that they are heightened mentally, their intelligence increases. The PF is different, it heightens you emotionally, so Jean Grey couldn't control the PF, and was seeking a cosmic orgasm.

Can Cyclops really be that clueless? Co-existence is, by definition, not singular.

That doesn't make sense. If they have the phoenix, they should be able to spark life back into the world since they're on a higher plane of existence. They're holding back and hopefully next issue will tell us why.
Sure Hope "broke the spell" according to Unit, but the Phoenix is above all that also according to Unit. It was the phoenix (going strictly by Unit's heresay) that was able to bring forth order in that world. The chosen one merely gathered the components that called it to their planet. So its very much different than Hope "activating" mutants around the planet since Unit's protagonist in his story never did that......which is why his story rings kind of hollow for me.
Also, just to throw it out there: There was another mutant baby born and it never registered as a light on Hope's radar. Hell, it was all but ignored after a certain purpose was served in X-continuity and thats the child of Rahne Sinclair. This half demi god/ half mutant is still out there and was very much not activated by Hope, so theres something going on here.
