Default Night of 1000 Wolves SPOILERS

    SPOILERS

I just finished reading IDW's "Night of 1000 Wolves" #1 (I know it came out in May but I just go to it) and loved it. #2 is coming out June 13th so I decided to read #1 to see if I'd be picking up #2 and was pleasantly surprised. The art is first rate and is a great fit for a horror book. The series is only a 3 issue mini so it wastes no time slowly building up momentum but starts fast from the very first page. The ending was great as the small family fights their way through a large pack of hungry wolves supposedly to the safety of a barn only to find out that there's something much worse inside. There's not a lot of dialog in this book as its mostly action but the pace seems appropriate for a 3-issue story. I can't wait for #2 and since it comes out tomorrow I wont have to.
Pull List: Transformers, Green Lantern, Batman Inc, Justice League, East of West and Deathmatch.

It's a great book, one of my favourites from recent new series. Impressed that IDW are producing more original titles.

    SPOILERS

Just read #2 and this book was impressing me. In fact, I thought #2 was better than #1 all the way until the last page. WHAT THE HELL WAS UP WITH THAT? I mean this book is rockin and all the sudden a Giant (Godzilla Size) Wolf comes out of the woods and walks up to the fortress and starts speaking clear English?! As soon as I saw that I felt my heart sink as this book went from potential greatness to potential major lameness. Is issue #3 going to be a throw down between King Kong and this giant wolf? The art in this book is first rate in my opinion. I don't know that I've ever read a book drawn by Dave Wachter before but I'll keep an eye out for him in the future. I'm not sure what I'm going do do about #3. I'll probably cool down by the time it comes out and at least take a look at it but so far the ending of #2 has left me feeling disappointed.

Well....she is a god. So speech should not be beyond her. From the very first issue it has been made clear this is a supernatural series.

Dropped it from my pull list and traded #1 & 2 back to my LCS. Loved the art but couldn't handle the ending of #2.

Sorry to hear that. I love this series, love the art and am interested in the oppressive horror of these under prepared settlers being picked off by wolves and wolf spirits. I'm on board til the end.
