a few potential spoilers in there, in case anyone is wondering. one should expect that, but there's no 'potential spoilers' mention from CBR.

"he's broken and he's trying to repair himself,""
Id call that a gross misunderstanding of the character, but he's not playing Batman so meh.

I don't think he's trying to repair himself.
Batman is trying to stop crime in gotham, it's an impossible goal, he already got revenge for his parents murder, and he keeps going. Also, wearing a fucking bat costume and fighting crime isn't something a normal person does.

I think in Nolan's movies he's trying to repair himself.

the comics are different. does Joe Chill exist or not? so like, that's all in flux anyway.
but I think it depends. Batman is malleable that each person is going to have a differing view of him based on which stories they enjoy.

also, in a world of superheroes, I don't think the bat costume is that abnormal. it's not like if you or I did it.

Seems obvious they're talking about the movie version of the character, where he is very much in a state of constant self-improvement. It's what the entire first movie was about..
