Default Wonder Woman Online Story - Better Angels

Quite a while ago I began a story - a fan fiction I think it is called - to deal with my disappointment over Amazons Attack. Now it has grown into my own personal wonderverse - but I just love to share. The story "Better Angels" is now complete. I will be releasing the pdf formatted parts over the next few weeks.

So if you miss the old Diana and her supporting cast, come and check it out. You just may like it ;) The links for the parts are listed below. I warn you now Part 4 is NOT the end of the story. But the end is now written.

Action. Comedy. More action. Romance. Heroism. Drama. Suspense. Horror. And did I mention action?

I know what many of you think. Fan Fiction. I know what those are like.

Do me this one favor - if you have not read it already, download the first part. See what you think.

I did make a few changes along the way - I suppose if you have read ahead I could send you the ending in advance. Just send me a pm and explain in 25 words or more why Blackest Night should have had Tom instead of Batman.

lol. So it wouldn't make sense? Hmm, need a few more words for decompression. ;)

btw, I downloaded parts 1-3 before (haven't finished them yet), should I redownload them or have they not changed? (eta: I redownloaded them anyway, just in case)

All pdf are the final form, the definitive article.

Greedo shooting first somewhere down the track is not an option.

The first five readers to write in with on the subject of "Hey, Wonder Woman would never act like that" will win a copy of John's cover art [I hold the original] signed by both me and Gwen.

You must cite chapter and verse from the story in your rant, be a resident of Earth or one of its colonies, and have a pulse.

Default Wonder Woman Fan Fiction - Better Angels

Continuing the story of Better Angels.

Here is a sneak peak - as is the case with other previews this month, Diana isn't in it, but I can promise she is on more than 7 pages

Former Field Agent Douglas Saunders sat at his station, staring at his monitor, doing his duty.

Except this wasn’t duty. This was dweeb duty. His duty was to be out in the field taking down freaks and backing up his buddies. Like he would have been doing the night Genocide attacked, if he weren’t laid up in the infirmary.

All because the special pretty boy Tresser wouldn’t hand over a damn peach pit hanging around his neck!

Saunders had listened to the psych guys tell him that there was nothing that he could have done, nothing he had to blame himself for. If he had been active that night, there would have just been one more body bag.

They were right about one thing. Saunders didn’t blame himself.

There are few things worse than a traitor.

Tresser had betrayed the whole DMA – it didn’t matter what had been going on with Steel’s brain. Sure the base commander had been compromised by an enemy telepath. So what? Tresser had turned on his fellow agents, and made it that much easier for Genocide to walk in and start killing everyone.

    Treachery should be punished.

Saunders had seen Candy dressing down Lopez and O’Donnel. Wet backs, both of them, barely useful as target practice for real agents. He wasn’t fooled by Candy, either. It was common knowledge she had aided and abetted Tresser when there was a capture or kill order out on him. She was just keeping up appearances til she had an excuse to get rid of him.

And then they wouldn’t have to worry about chuckling at him in secret any more. They would tell their jokes and laugh out loud. He thought he could already hear the laughter. Sometimes he even heard it in his sleep. When he did sleep.

    His monitor beeped.

Saunders punched a button and read the display. Some kind of incident in Florida – kids reporting a crazy woman speaking a foreign language attacked some kids in a storm drain.

Such an occurrence didn’t sound like it was worthy of DMA attention, but since the attack on D.C., and especially since the Amazons had returned to their island, there were protocols for keeping a watch for any and all potentially Amazon activity. Programs scanned incident reports, looking for certain markers within the variables.

The woman was tall, athletic, and very good looking according to what the boys involved said. Dressed in some kind of one piece dress and sandals. Olive skin, though the Amazon’s were pretty much any race. And very strong – the report said the boy who had been grabbed had severe bruising to the neck more consistent with being grabbed two handed by a strong man than a woman.

    Speaking a strange language.

Something was niggling at the back of Saunder’s mind, like an ant down the back of his shirt. There was enough evidence here to maybe order an investigation, but…

Not really knowing why, Saunders pulled up a list of Agents in the area. With personnel diminished, they had to keep a stricter eye on human resources. The search showed about a dozen qualified agents close enough, as well as FBI people on detached duty to the DMA.

There was something else as well. A DMA small transport aircraft had just logged a flight plan for Florida, apparently travelling from Philadelphia. Saunders pulled up the info on the aircraft. When he saw who was the assigned agent, he froze.

    Tresser!

It all made sense suddenly. Tresser was an Amazon sympathiser. Saunders had seen the photos that had mysteriously disappeared of him cuddling up to Wonder Woman. He wouldn’t be the first man to sell out his country for some prime booty.

Saunders didn’t know exactly how Wonder Woman fitted into all this, but it didn’t matter. She was an Amazon, and even if she wasn’t working with them, she would give them the benefit of the doubt, make excuses for them. Her judgement was compromised, along with Tresser’s.

A man cannot serve two masters.

Protocol demanded that he report what he knew to his station supervisor, who would then pass it on the operation commander if it was deemed necessary. Which meant even if it got that far, Colonel Candy would be the one making the call. It was a no-brainer how that would pan out.

You know what needs to be done.

Saunders knew what needed to be done.

Just a note for people trying to download

When you get to the rapidshare site you will encouter a screen like this...

You do NOT have to buy rapidpro to download the file. Simply click on the download button in green [not the arrow, the button that says download] and wait. You might have to try a couple of times depending on if the page is still loading. However, you shoudl eventually get a window with the option of opening or saving the file.

I logged out of rapidshre and tried this myself and it worked. There is no need to spend money.

Out of interest, how come you're not posting this on a fanfiction site?

And I think it's awesome that you've written this, and I look forward to reading it.

Well, I guess http://www.fanfiction.net/ is the obvious answer. But if I were you I'd go for A03 since it's a tad classier. Or as classy as fanfiction can get... Hope that helps
