It won't be the same Luthor, the same way Ledger's Joker wasn't Nicholson's Joker. Plus, you're forgetting this is Luthor. People don't only know him because of the movies. He's been in as many things as Superman and people know he's not supposed to be silly like in the movies.

Google image search Lex Luthor, and Michael Rosenbaum will come before Kevin Spacey and dominates that first page. Smallville's early seasons really defined the character in the mainstream.

If a powerful cosmic villain is desired, but not Darkseid due to the similarities with Thanos, then perhaps...the Anti-Monitor?

The responses are as predictable as they are sad.

Which is further evidence that he is not suitable villain material for a full-blown JL movie.
In my opinion is implied in every post. Please make an effort to remember that.

Perhaps but the name would hold the guy back. You can't really have an Anti-Monitor without understanding who the Monitor is, so there's two intros you need to make instead of one. Plus, the one thing that always irritated me about COIE is that Wolfman seemed like he just couldn't come up with a good villain name, and in deadline desperation just went with Anti-Monitor. It's a stupid name.

I thought the name was scary/wicked cool/weird, but that's just me.

Anti-Monitor originally introduced himself as "the Monitor," and the heroes even called him that for much of COIE, so a film version could be called that to simplify matters.

Oh no, I got that. Hence where I got "your opinion" from. You should realize that the word evidence implies something factual and objective.

and you should realize that the words "In my opinion is implied in every post" mean that my opinion is always implied. Y'know. Just saying.

As pointed out, you used the word "evidence". You can't say "in my opinion, this is evidence". Either it's your opinion or it's evidence.

If you imply it in every post, you're basically saying "In my opinion, this is evidence..." which basically makes no sense. I get what you mean to say, but if you're going to imply something, you should be aware of what else you're implying.
