That's great, in the age of the 1 Item Ruling it's good to know that there are several options to allow competition, rather than in the days of Exogenes.

No, we are doing a Verse vs Verse match, where I only pick from Percy Jackson characters and he only picks Buffyverse ones, so we can just pick whole teams.

Tami's a bit hesitant as to how this will work, and I'm a bit confused myself. Anyway want to set up a challenge as a sample run?

I've been trying to come up with a good theme for an open challenge anyway, but I keep rethinking on it. Not sure if I want to use the whole League format.

I'm just indecisive. And I also don't want to suddenly find myself hosting another multi-week League if I post an open challenge.

Well then make any Open challenge an Elimination challenge, or put in a limit on people to keep it reasonable.

OPEN CHALLENGE: ELEMENTAL BATTEL!!!

STIPULATIONS:

Each team created must adhere to a theme of an "element" akin to the Classical elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Lightning, etc. Each player must pick an element. Each character in your team MUST have that element as one of their main powers. For example, I could make a Fire team using Human Torch, Hikaru Shido, and Ace. Some one else could make a Water team using Hydroman, Umi Ryuzaki, and Katara. Etc. This is before giving them any items.



Since it's my Challenge I immediately claim the FIRE team. HUZZAH!

The following added conditions apply:

-You have 60 points to make teams.

-Only two 10 point items or characters.

-You cannot repeat someone elses elemental theme, characters, or items.

-You can only give each character a maximum of 2 items.

-You may only pick one character per universe, but sub-universes DO count as seperate. For example, you can pick a DC character and a Wildstorm character, event though DC owns Wildstorm.

-This will be an elimination challenge. If there are only three teams, we'll each fight each other team. If there are four or more, it shall be elimination. Let's not have more then eight teams.

-Strategies are not required before hand. This will be more of a Rumble, where we shall speculate on the chances to win, and the players can defend their chances. Scans aren't required but will of course help back claims.

-If you cannot find enough characters from the Draft Lists, you may add more to make up for it. I will trust you not to flagrantly skew the numbers in your favor. You cannot, however, add new items. Also, check the Gamma Thread for notable additions.


Drafting shall occur as follows: We will pick in order, two items/characters at a time.

I could get in on this, but I might have some iffy definitions (I.E. Water = a Robot who shoots various liquids including Water) so if I cross a line let me know as I'll ahve a few alternates in mind.

Do we have to call dibs on an Element first, so as not to step on Drafting toes?
