Ok whatever my point is if the point of this is to replicate Marvel you start at the beginning and build from there. The Green Latern franchise will be very limited and have fewer places to explore if you start with John Stewart and give him a contrived origin so he isn't dependednt on Hal. That will all be resolved if you just start from the start. Using the DCAU is a poor example because they had no intention of making the Green Lantern of that show part of anything bigger and he was mainly cast because Hal was dead for several years and they saw it as an opportunity to make the cast diverse without contiuity contraints bogging them down. That scenario doesn't exist here.

They are franchise building, they want a Green Lantern series, Hal is alive, the company is strongly promoting Hal as their main Green Lantern both in movies and on cartoons, etc.

Sean William Scott as Flash. Wally West Flash. Or a Barry Allen with some of the character taken from Wally. Anyway, Sean William Scott as Flash. I cannot stress this enough.

Eh? I never mention anything about John Stewart. o_O? Why did you reply to me? My only point was that the JLA wouldn't do an all white team due to the negative press and consequences that would come along with it. I never said they had to replace Hal with John. To be honest, I see them going with cyborg mostly because that is what's currently
going on the DCU and they would want to bring moviegoers into readers, it won't work, but that's usually the logic that goes on behind the scene.

Since many on here see a minority character being included as necessary, here are my top candidates.

    Martian Manhunter
He has a history with the JL and his powers can be quite awesome to see on the big screen. If DC goes for the white martian invasion angle for the JL movie then it makesperfect sense to include him.

    Cyborg
Adding him would fall in line with the current DCnu team plus he adds some unique powers to team. His origin can be connected to the JL plot like it is in the comics.

    Fire
She adds not only racial/ethnic diversity but also works in favor of equal gender representation. Her powers are unique and can easily be explained through the introduction of the meta gene in DCMU. Her origin wouldnt require to much screen time.

    Hawkgirl
Like in the JL show they can cast a Hispanic actress to play her. She is a known character and the GA would recognise her easily. Her power set and personality can make for some interesting moments.
    Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle) Rules!!

i'd argue against including aquaman, but not for reasons like he's lame. he isn't. He's constricting. Unless he's near a large body of water, his powers are "Superman but less". The movie would be better served with another character with more unique powers, especially if said character isn't a white male

    I'll go:
    Superman
    Batman
    Wonder Woman
    Martian Manhunter
    Aquaman
    Flash
    GL
    Cyborg

I'd like GA and BC to, but if they can't because of the TV show, I'll accept Hawkman and Hawkwoman as substitutes.
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...

We've seen that Aquaman doesn't need to be near a "body" of water to use his powers, water is EVERYWHERE and he can manipulate it from a great distance.

I'd want SWS as Flash if they went with Wally, but I'd rather they go with Barry. For me so much of what makes Wally great is his transition from KF to F, and I feel like of all the sidekick concepts he could work the easiest (he's got crazy super speed, so the "OH NOES KID IN DANGER" thing doesn't apply quite as much).

I'd rather have Barry in JL1 and Flash 1 and Flash 2 (introduce KF here) then have Barry die in JL2. Flash 3 (with wally becoming the flash) would be my dream movie.

That being said, if they don't go with Hal as GL, they kind of need to go with Wally as Flash. I prefer Hal as GL simply because he's a good comic relief character (think Johns' JL Hal).

I agree with this, I love Barry as Flash and watching Wally transcend from KF to Flash
