I felt that also but now that the undercover reveal is official I'm starting to suspect that perhaps Aquagirl is kept out of sight to be used in the event Aqualad's cover is blown or something.

While I did saw Aqualad's reveal coming there was a part of my mind that was interested in how far the writers would go with the possibility of one of their main characters being killed off. Also with Aqualad being legit villain

My thoughts on the episode: Definitely the best of the Season so far, and probably IMO the best of the series so far. Totally fell for Artemis' death feint, the episode actually made me believe that Artemis was dead and that Aqualad was evil. The reveal was actually shocking, even if it does follow tropes (but very few shows don't). The reveal made me both glad and a teensy bit disappointed, glad because no one's favorite character is dead/actually evil, slightly disappointed because I would have been really interested in how the Season could have gone if Kaldur's heel-face-turn had been true and Artemis was actually dead. Can't wait to see the potential fallout of Nightwing, Kaldur, Wally, and Artemis keeping this from the Team and League. Still great writing and drama and action all around.

Interesting observation, Nightwing has only been leader for a year, so I guess that means Kaldur has only been in deep cover for a year as well? (and that Tula got killed around that time too?)

The cause of M'gann and Conner breaking up was interesting and remind me of what Zatanna did in Identity Crisis. IMO it is interesting character development and does not make M'gann irredeemable (and the catatonia is not permanent as we saw with Psimon and the Krolotean who went with the League to Rimbor). Can't wait see what happens to Lagoon Boy (still think he gets undeserved hate, he is a funny character IMO).

Now it looks like it'll end before I can really get into it. *sigh* Hopefully the next one has better animation at least (and a different voice cast. can't stand Stark's voice in this one).
I dont know, the voice grew on me. The animation threw me off at some points, specially how they draw females. In some ways they looked out of proportion.

I'm with ya when it comes to respecting their animated shows, theres a reason why people look at DC's animation with higher regard.

Yeah, this being a comics world inspired series, "death" is always going to be a rather "flexible" situation. I too was actually wondering how far the writers would go and was actually hoping they would take the dive and make the changes stick, but I guess not. Still very excited to see what comes next. Also, isn't Gar supposed to show up sometime this season? I imagine we'll get the full story on Aquagirl whenever he shows up.

He gets hated because of his status. Megan's rebound boyfriend, the show itself even states that. That is what he is introduced as and that is all we know him as. The other newbies like Blue Beetle, Beast Boy, and Wonder Girl had backstories and interesting personalities that provides them with a little depth. If the show had shown him as something other than that and provided Lagoon Boy some interesting character depth then I would like him a little but so far he's just there just to make Connor jealous

I don't know what it is about the voice, but it feels like he's almost trying to mimic Robert Downey Jr. Either way, it's not as bad as when I first heard it, but I definitely wouldnt mind if they changed it.

I hope not too. Weisman did mention in one of his Q&As that ratings were alright though, so here's hoping those in charge will grant them another season, if not more.

Maybe Nightwing's 'Don't die' comment at the beginning of the season wasn't a reference to Jason like most people assumed, and he was thinking about Tula. Just throwing that out there.
My favorite character can beat up your favorite character.

Sadly it's not uncommon for shows to be cancelled regardless the rating but I hope the show last longer than Spectacular Spider-Man anyway. I hope The Enchantress makes an appearance in the animated revamp. I like her character arc in EMH and hope that she continues to be a interesting character in the revamp

It's called OpSec -operational security - and it breaks down as follows: the number of people that can blow your covert op is roughly ten times the number of people that officially know about it, so you keep that number as low as possible. Connor is too much like Clark, a horrible liar, so they couldn't let him in on it. So that makes two moles in Manta's organization, one retired cape that never interacts with the team any longer, and finally the mastermind of the whole thing, a guy that's managed to keep his entire identity a secret from both the team and the league, oh, and even his BEST FRIEND. Why Wally and Artemis needed to be in on this still needs explaining.

So right off the top, two people that could screw this up are M'Gann(telepath) and Zatanna(glamor charm). Nightwing doesn't go on missions in a YEAR until this one, so that's already screwy which means you can add the whole team and then anyone they might talk to. Wally doesn't have to fake missing Artemis or being angry that she's gone, but he still might slip, especially if Jade comes to visit or if Connor tries to talk to him about it and hears an irregular heartbeat- see how this works? You could keep going down the line of people that someone in the know interacts with, and it will be the person you least expect to that notices something's off. And it doesn't matter how little they know, one new detail can tie together a whole bunch of previously unrelated pieces.

And yeah, the pill Artemis popped is what stopped her heart, except that it looked like a hollow tooth that she had to bite down on.

As for Connor and M'Gann, didn't think they'd go there, but not at all shocked. If M'Gann would try to alter Connor telepathically, then what exactly would have stopped her from doing the same to EVERYONE to keep them from noticing just how badly affected someone that she interrogates is? She was even able to screw with MM's mind in the first season, and she's obviously only gotten better at it. Connor HASN'T told on her, so he probably wouldn't realize it until they rank and file tell him that he's crazy and they are way too insistent about it. That will be the absolute final nail in the coffin of their relationship.

I didn't find Lagoon Boy noticeably annoying until this ep. I was kind of disappointed that Carol didn't join the fight as Star Sapphire. Also, Dick is right, the team WON'T forgive them, but then, this was always supposed to be a COVERT OPS team. Comes with the territory.

And, "MmmmHmmmmm. They're both gonna wind up our responsibility." Loved that.

With all the good things I've heard about Spectacular SM, Im sad I never got to see it when it was actually airing. Alas, maybe someday I'll go watch it, but I can barely find the time to watch my other shows as it is.

yeah I know what Opsec is, I was in the Military too. I just didn't see Artemis bite down on any pill, I missed that part.

There was a crunching sound and flakes of something came out of her mouth when the "stabbing" was replayed at the end of the episode.

This episode made me wonder a few thing.

    1. Does La'gann know about M'gann's true appearance, and if he doesn't how will he react?

    2. How will Spotsmaster react to his daughter's "death"? (Also Cheshire and Paula)

    3. Since the team is trying to maintain the illusion that the Leaguers are still on Earth, who is filling in for Batman? (Maybe Nightwing(dressed as Batman) and Robin) Cause God knows Gotham will crumble without him.
Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!
