Default How many issues of Action Comics is it REALLY?

I know it's up to Volume 2 number 10 but how many issues of Action have been released counting the zero number from the nineties and the complete run of Volume 1?
Nine hundred fifteen or so? I can't help but believe sometime before the 100th issue it will revert back to Volume 1 numbering for the occasion.

    Volume 1 ended at #904, so including the #0 it's be at #915. :)

I don't think there will be any doubt that DC will revert to the original numbering for who knows how many issues once we hit #1000. That's still years away though so something might happen before that.

Action #1000 will happen in September of 2019 to be precise (given that it keeps a monthly schedule of 12 comics a year and doesn't go bi-monthly or whatever).

That's still seven years away. Didio has said that they won't go back to the old numbering, but a lot can and will change in seven years time. Heck, Didio might not even still be in charge in 2019. Who knows.

I remember when Final Crisis came out people were wondering if that would be a relaunch similar to COIE, and they said back then that they had no plans to do any such thing. Well four years later plans changed and we had the Flashpoint relaunch...

So yeah, a lot can and will change in seven years.

So whatever they say now has absolutely no bearing on what will actually happen seven years from now. Considering Action will be the first comic in history to ever reach 1000 issues, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that DC will miss out on milking that for all its worth.

I wouldn't mind a one off #1000 issue but then they should go back to #97 or whatever number the next issue would be in the Vol. 2 listing for the one after.
I support Danny LuVisi's Last Man Standing.

Ya know oddly enough I agree with you. I was one of the harshest critics of renumbering Action but now that it is in place having two volumes of the same title makes sense and I see no need to reverse it except as you mention for special milestone issues. It's still Action Comics no matter what number scheme they use.

Even if I was Didio and wanted to keep the current numbering, once you hit #1000 you HAVE to label it as such, it's such a big, nice, round number and the biggest one in american comics as far as the big publishers go. Gotta do it for that one.
