I used to have a huge Hellblazer collection, but it got destroyed. So it's been a while since I picked up any issue. Where would be a good jumping on point? Is there even one? Any help is appreciated.

This month's issue starts a new story arc, so it might be a good bet.
Yeah I'm going to start this book too. Constatine has quickly become one of my favorite characters in just two issues of Justice League Dark. Can anyone give me a good run down of what trades to look at?
In my opinion the first two writers were among the best, so it makes sense to start at the beginning - and you're in luck, Vertigo just started reprinting all the issues in new collections (Vol 1, 2 & 3 are out now, Vol 4 this year). These collections replace some long OOP and expensive trades. Jamie Delano & Garth Ennis I think were the best Hellblazer writers, and they were the first two out of the gate. Warren Ellis did a real good run later but it was cut short unfortunately. The rest can be hit or miss, opinions seem to vary quite widely. But Mike Carey had a pretty good run, Peter Milligan's current run is good. Paul Jenkins is considered good by many but I don't think was ever collected but should be this time around.
Thanks a lot, I will start with the Delano stuff.
Well if ranked them then it'd probably look like this:
1. Garth Ennis
2. Pete Milligan
3. Jamie Delano
4. Brian Azzerrello
5. Mike Carey
6. Warren Ellis
7. Paul Jenkins
8. Andy Diggle
9. Denise Mina
The top 3 is probably the ones you should look for, 4 to 6 are the ones that people seemed to have differentiate about, 7 is pretty hard to get (because it wasn't collected) and the last 2 are probably the most hit or miss on the list (Though Diggle did get really good by the end).
Well I think for now, I'll just start with Delano which leads directly to Ennis. I find the 4-6 part kind of strange, because I'm a fan of all three of those writers. What did you think about those runs?
